New to Steemit? FIVE tips to SUCCEED!!
Do not expect to earn BIG $$$ in your first 3 to 6 months!
Join @Qurator NOW!!! 1 SBD for a lifetime of real upvotes!
View Steemit as FREE Harvard University Classes!
Network and join a community that you want to be a part of!
Invest in STEEM/ STEEM POWER!!!
Now, lets break it down...
Expectations of instant riches ARE THE BEST WAY to sour your Steemit experience. If you can accept that Steemit is a community, not an office space or magical unicorn, then you will better plan for success. Patience, hard work, luck and kindness are going to carry you farther than chasing the rainbow's golden end.
@Qurator is a curation (voting) bot that upvotes its members. It currently requires only 1 SBD donation/ buy-in for a lifetime of upvotes: what a bargain!?!! With up votes at $0.08 to $0.10 each, it can take as little as two weeks for a full Return on Investment (ROI). This is figuring @qurator upvotes you once per day (limit one per day) every day, for two weeks. For the remaining 50 weeks in a year, at 5 posts per week, it could mean a one-year ROI of 20 SBD. That is a 2000X ROI!
Every year United States citizens spend thousands and tens of thousands of dollars on college classes. Many of their subjects will never EVER be used 'in the real world!' What a waste of money, right?? Well, Steemit lets you learn as much and MORE.... For FREE! Let's say you never earn a dime on Steemit, but you master cryptocurrencies 101, 201 and 301, and you improve your English writing skills way beyond most college sophomores!? That is like earning $2,000, $3,000 or maybe even $20,000!! Cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology are the wave of the near future! What if you can say, after a year on Steemit, that you understand how the blockchain works, and you are in the top 10% or 20% ranking of this ground-floor innovative blockchain platform?? It really could get you a sweet job, even without a college degree. Or, even better, it can give you the knowledge and skills you need to start your own niche business!
Steemit, as a blogging platform, really is a bit complicated. You aren't going to get very far going it alone! Many a minnow have gotten lost at sea, never to be seen again!
Find your school! Find some like-minded, or like-motivated Steemians and get lost in the chaos together!
Seriously, YOU have to find, at least a portion, of your future audience! If getting paid for blogging is your goal here!?... You need to have people that know about you, and want to read your story! And who knows, if you get out and socialize you may even find a whale or whale-size-school-of-fish that love your art, or perspective, or unique story!
www.steemit.chat and the @minnowsupport channel on Discord are two great places to start meeting people and finding your crowd. They do both require signing up for each site/app. They are not part of steemit.com. Discord, a gamer's chat app, actually has a huge number of Steemit communities in their own respective chat rooms; so it is worth checking out!
(One last thing: You can find communities within Steemit.com itself, it is just not near as fast or easy to be a part of these communities on a personal level because there is not a native chat feature.)
TINSTAAFL (Google or Duck, Duck, Go it) While Steemit.com IS free and you can theoretically earn free money on the platform...Your efforts will be INFINITELY more rewarding and rewarded IF you invest $500 or $1000 USD (0.10 - 0.25 BTC) into your account and POWER UP. Buying STEEM and converting it to SP (STEEM POWER) allows your actions to have more 'weight' and (will usually) increase your ability to earn rewards. If you are willing to work for 2 months to earn just $20, $50 or $500 SBD, why not invest in STEEM first, and your time and effort could be doubled or more. It really does take money to make money. "But I have zero dollars to my name!" How are you paying for your computer, smart phone, or internet? Anyway, FINE!! ...Then do this:
For EVERY post, choose to be paid out in 100% SP for the first 6 months. Keep reinvesting your earnings into your account, and your growth will be happier, QUICKER and more beneficial!
Thank you ALL so very much!!
I really hope these tips are able to help you out
Thanks for bringing up the @Qurator project. I wasn't aware of this service. I've been using only the Minnow support network. From my experience so far, leaving quality comments on other people's posts is one of the best ways to bring attention to your own profile and get some followers.
Building those relationships with other Steemians is key. Just posting content and waiting for upvotes doesn't always work, especially if nobody knows you.
Agreed, what's important is some organic growth and networking, maybe a mix of strategy and true friendship :-) (followed)
Wellcome to the community!

Nice post, it will help a lot of newcomers. I think it is great how you have listed the examples.
Great tips. And for your information I am a member of @quarto as well. I am thinking of upgrading my basic membership. One will not go wrong from following your great tips.
What's quarto? It's linked to an empty profile ..sorry in curious by nature ;-)
It is a group of minnows who are there to support each other and to help members grow. Quarto will also vote member's posts.
Thanks for the info @positivesteem, I'll look for developments :-)
For those that don't approve of voting bots:
I will present the case that @qurator does not have the normal objections that most 'pay for vote' bots could have.
You are exactly 100% right, we currently have 3 people checking accounts and we already picked up on some members using copyright material. We try our best to help them and push them in the right direction. Since we write the Daily Qurator we scan our members and select the good content to be featured. Thanks for your vote of confidence! =)

Let's see what your cousin @originalworks has to say!
Do you two ever compete at the family get togethers?
At a family gathering:
OW: I am more Original.
Q: Well I am more authentic!
OW: Let me check @ originalworks ........ Nothin, see. You just don't measure up!
Q: Faker! You are just a copypasta cook. ALways saying the same thing no matter where you go!!!
OW: ..........bro....you too. Do you think @sherlockholmes or @steemcleaners are looking into us?
Q: I don't think so.... the community seems to like us pretty good!
OW: whew! You had me worried for a minute there.
OW: okay, see you next time.
Q: Laterz!
This was rather entertaining, thanks for that. =)
We try our best to constantly monitor our members. The bot might do the heavy lifting when it comes to upvoting, but we still manually approve and select our members by reviewing their content.
The only problem that I have with investing in steem is that some of us don't have the money available to invest. I would if I could. I've had to earn all my SP the hard way, by posting content. I don't have very much SP yet, but it's slowly growing.
Right, I do get that. I guess my suggestion is.....if you COULD take a week off from Steemit and mow lawns, sell all your surplus on eBay, or donate plasma or anything...to earn even $200, and invest that into STEEM, THEN all your efforts afterward on Steemit will be more productive and fruitful.
It isn't always so easy.....but, if you are 100% committed to STEEMIT...then the effort is worthwhile.
While this is some helpful advice for the majority, the truth is, you really can earn pretty fast in your first few months. I'm on month nearly 4 and I've done insanely well so far.
It's all about how much relationship building you do, how consistent/dedicated you are to writing and creating content, and how much you give to others.
Great post though, I'm nominating it for todays upvote bot potential :)
Absolutely!
If a minnow can do 2 or 3 of these things they will be ahead of the crowd!!
Thanks for the support!
Peace!
I completely agree with your way of seeing things @fatpandadesign ..and networking in steemit as much as in life is essential. In fact i followed you :-)
That was well explained. I'm a minnow ant tryna find ways to swim better. Thank you for the tips. Definitely saving this!
