Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 08 : Red Grape Muffins
Red Grape Muffins
Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 08
The 2018 Steemit Ironchef challenge is here! This year @progressivechef broke up the contest into 3 seperate 'Acts' consisting of 15 rounds. The special ingredient for Act 1 Round 8 of the 2018 @steemit-ironchef challenge is the Grape 🍇. Grapes are a delicious fruit that can be used in many ways. I decided to make Red Grape muffins. These muffins can be made using a variety of different substitutes, but Red Grapes make a sweet and delicious additive. Most people are familiar with blueberry muffins and other various berry muffins, but they never think about adding grapes. Grapes are healthy, relatively cheap and fairly easy to find, making them a great muffin ingredient.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of Sliced Red Seedless Grapes
2 1/2 cups of Flour
1 cup of Sugar
1 cup of Milk
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
2 Eggs
1 stick of Butter
2 1/2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon
Step 1: Slice the Grapes
Slice up 1.5 cups of Red Seedless Grapes into small bits.
Step 2: Combine Drys
In a mixing bowl, combine 2.5 cups of flour with 1 cup of sugar, 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Step 3: Add Wets & Mix
Add a stick of melted butter, 1 cup of milk, 2 beaten eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Step 4: Add the Grapes
Pour in 1.5 cups of sliced grapes and gently mix them into the batter.
Step 5: Pour into Pan & Bake
Pour the batter into a 12-piece muffin pan. Bake in the oven at 375°F for roughly 25 minutes.
Step 6: Toothpick Trick
Use a toothpick to see if the muffins are finished. Stab a muffin, if the toothpick is clear when you pull it out, then the muffins are ready. If muffin-parts sticks to the toothpick, it will need a few more minutes in the oven.
Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!
These muffins are delicious when they are served warm with melted better, but they are also great when they are cold the next day!

You are so right when you said that we actually never think of putting grapes in muffins...we are always going after all the different berries out there! What a great idea you gave me here mate! Thanks for that!
Your muffins looks amazingly well done!
Bravo!
Hello, first time I visit your blog, because when you see this recipe it was inevitable to do it, I am a lover of healthy desserts and this recipe I loved, the birthday of my princess is approaching and since I can not make a celebration, this seems to me a good option to give in your day. Thanks for sharing it. A big hug.
Thank you for stopping by, I am glad you enjoyed this recipe. I wish your princess a happy early birthday :)
excellent friend of truth that these red grape muffins are really delicious and tasty, I have never seen a grape cake as they say here in my country, and seeing these provocations is to do it, and more to see the step by step the preparation and the photos. The other day you published the burger was original and these muffins are also. I congratulate you and wish you luck in the contest and I hope you win.
I like how they look in this photo, it causes even more to eat them. Luck
These grapes are delicious, wise that we eat 12 of those grapes at 12 midnight on the end of the year? with her we ask for wishes.
I have never heard of that before. Is this a tradition?
So it is one minute before the chimes sound the new year we eat 12 grapes of these and for each grape a wish
I will have to keep grapes with me next New Years eve!
That's right and you can order your 12 wishes for the new year :)
Never even thought about putting grapes in muffins before. Thanks for the recipe!
Such a perfect recipe! I love grapes. Sometimes I visit my grandma at the seaside, and she has red grapes in her garden. I pick them up and eat them on the beach. Priceless! Now I will try your recipe :))
Freshly picked grapes on the beach?! Sounds heavenly
