Steemit-Uyo Poetry Contest - A Mother #MyEntry
When I crave for food, gently I suckle nourishment from her breast,
When my eyes are heavy and worn out, gently she lays me down to rest,
When I cry for fear, fear of being without you,
With a kiss on my head, quickly you come to rescue.
Bonded are we, like the days of dependency,
I don’t have to say no word, master of my every tendency,
Sweet is her love, like my local wine,
I wonder who else it could have been, if she wasn’t mine.
From the days of humming, to the days of talking,
From the days of crawling, to the days of walking,
She always stood by me, prevented me from falling.
Oh mama! My woman my everything,
My antidote, my medicine,
When life troubles bother me, I long for her advice,
Always cautioning, never should I add vice.
I love you ma. My mother.
