Top 10 most popular posts by comment count in #category/tag - Give me your tags!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Another one, and a great data-dive idea by @charisma777, who (picked up a follow for proof of brain!) and wanted to know which were the most commented on posts with the tag #informationfinding.

I can see this being useful for those of us who've used a custom tag, perhaps to invite others to use the same tag for a competition entry or to try to raise the awareness and get the tag listed in the 'All tags' menu.

I've seen many users define a new tag and run with it, encouraging other Steemians to use the tag in their posts. And in time, you can see communities growing around these tags, which is super awesome!

walkwithme, gifteconomy, #steemgigs, steemfest, newbieresteemday, witness-category, slothicoin, teardrops, etc, etc

I think there could be some interest here :D

The list will look something like this, and these are the results from the #informationfinding tag:

The query looks at the 'category' metadata, and each of the 5 possible tags (I think the 'category' is the same as the first tag?) that can be assigned to a post. 'Count' is the number of comments the post has received.

The smallprint

This query takes some time to run (12 - 18 minutes in testing) and I'm likely to receive a phone call from @arcange if I pummel his DataBase too much!

Depending on the number of responses, I'm unlikely to fulfill all requests this time, and I'd prefer to see suggestions of tags that are not amongst the most popular.

Comment counts could be slightly off if the post is still 'active'.
