Tips for minnows (newbies), have a look

in #steemit7 years ago

Okay guys I have 100 followers now, but I learned something that having big no. follower base doesn't gonna help much in this platform.

Why?

Because when someone newly join steemit they always looks for followers and upvotes and for which they make deals with other newbies like follow for follow, upvote for upvote, but that doesn't gonna work much. Why because as I just joined few days ago I was one of the holder of newbie mentality.
As Newbie most of us just wants to make money for which we asks for others upvotes, but as newbies doesn't have steempower they doesn't have much voting weight, not a little lol. So its useless to beg for upvotes. For making quick money and because of our laziness we do palgarize, stole material of other authors, put lots of images & very little written material, images taken from internet and someone esle's copyright images, even my last post's most part taken from internet, for which @minnowsupport blacklisted me, and now I have to start creating high quality content.

It is basically to support minnows and bring their work to highlight.

@minnowsupport also upvotes the work of minnows. For more information on @minnowsupport page.

**sometimes you may have seen this guy/girl in your post @cheetah

So you may have been thinking who he/she actually is or what he/she actually does except telling indirectly to the steemit world that you have stole someone else's material...

Well @cheetah is an robot that comment on your post. If she does, she will claim that she found similar content somewhere else on the web. This is because you likely copy and pasted some form of content -- whether it be your own or not.and in her post she says that this is not an acusation of wrongdoing, but merely an informative comment for the reader.
But she post your name in her post like this-

We can call it the cheeta's wall of shame lol...I am lucky that she didn't put my name there or may be I haven't seen it :P ; anyways, so basically try to avoid copy and paste and create your original content otherwise cheetah will come.

I am not an expert as far as I can see, but I can give some tips

  1. avoid palgarize (taking others contend and editing it and call it yours), this is wrong.
  2. stop copy and paste.
  3. write content more than 100 words.
  4. try to write things/information which are new or not available in internet or in a usique form.
  5. you can take pictures from internet but mention the source.
    And
  6. try to follow above five

follow, upvote and resteem so other minnows can get this info

Nice post! Thanks for infos.

These are the basics of steemit, one thing you did not mention is the importance of formatting.
Leaving spaces between paragraphs and using headings throughout the post will make it easier to read for the average user.

Thank you, I will try to improve and give my best , thanks for the suggestion :)
