How exclusive content on Steemit would make the ecosystem grow much more! The case for video based content like vlogs.

A great target are vloggers, people who use youtube, streamers, etc. But how could we take the most out of it? I see people first have to upload their content on youtube so they can share it here.

The thing is, if there was some kind of way for people to upload videos directly to this platform, their content would be exclusively shared here first, meaning if people wanted to be the first to see new stuff they would see it here, where the authors would make the most out of it and get paid.

Imagine even if 5% of a channel's subscribers who are active followers, would come here to see the content first. The content that someone produces and their followers enjoy, would only be available here, as soon as it comes out. The creator would earn much more from his followers here than if they would just see it on #YouTube for example. The content wouldn't be anywhere else. If the loyal followers of someone want to keep up with the news, they would have to join the ecosystem. What would this do? This would transfer people from the current social networks they frequent, to here, in order to get the latest news and updates. We could see a major influx of new and mostly important - active and engaging users.

Now this might sound like something bad at the beginning, "forcing" people to change from some platform they are already used, to a new one. However let's not forget two things:

  1. Steemit is very similar to Reddit which most people already know. This really lowers the barrier of user acquisition.
  2. Loyal and active fans do enjoy helping and giving credit to whoever they follow. Some people make pretty huge donations to the streamers they follow on twitch for example. Now imagine them being able to do this with something as simple as a single click!. This creates a win-win situation, people can easily donate and content creators can get donations more easily.

I really think this will make Steem trully useful for #vloggers and everyone who produces video based content.

I guess we would have this once #IPFS is implemented. My point is, making content exclusively available on Steemit will make the ecosystem grow much more and people will make the most out of it. Once this feature is implemented he could really, take a giant leap forward!

Exclusive content is a great idea but you might limit your audience that way. Youtube already has millions of people searching for content all the time. You could always put a link in the video description enticing new followers to checkout steemit.

True, but I guess that depends on how the content creator manages it. Someone could just post their content here first and then on youtube 1 or 2 days after, it doesn't need to be much. Loyal fans will still be looking to be the first to get to the news.

Well but who will host all that videos?
We should also implement some kind of 'node-installation' where users will install an ipfs-implementation and receive an additional field on steemit that would say: 'save content' or something, to pin videos, articles and stuff they like on their local node. Also they could receive some kind of reward from upvotes for their effort to keep the content online :)
