I haven't used the mobile app they refer to, but on mobile you can open the website and add a shortcut to your desktop. SteemIt developers made the desktop shortcut method work very well.
It opens it's own browser process in full screen. Looks exactly like a mobile app in a webview wrapper. As a developer, I was pleasantly surprised to see this forethought.
