4. VIDEO TUTORIAL : What is Reputation Score on Steemit? What is mine?

in #steemit7 years ago

Welcome to my MINI VIDEO SERIES exclusively for Steemit.

This video is about reputation score on Steemit and what does it mean. I will tell you how to increase your reputation score and show you examples of bad profiles and good profiles. This applies more to people who are beginners and its a great video to show to your friends/ partners / family who will be joining steemit.

I would appreciate any feedback on this tutorial. I appreciate its very basic, but I have put a lot of effort into creating this.  This is a second episode, more episodes will come :)

Great work girl.

thank you!!

I have a reputation score of 7, my rep score didnt go down from the fact that I was trying to scam the steemit community or I was plagiarizing, it was because people with much higher steem power didnt like the content that I spoke about and began flagging my post "without" writing or informing me of their flagging. Given that I received no notifications of this activity I didnt realize what was happening until my reputation score was down to a 5...practically in the toilet bowl. Furthermore, given that there was no way to protect myself I had to basically accept this situation as some sort of internet chastisement though I was only on the platform for a week and the same group of people continued to flag my content without ever once attempting to write me and inform me of the unwritten rules when using this platform. Generally I understand what you're saying, but just because someone has a reputation of under 25 doesnt have to mean that they're suspect or cant be taken seriously, just like if someone who has a high rep score it doesnt mean that it's correct to hammer down smaller pages knowing that there's no level of defense to that. I've been on this site for about 2 weeks and overall it's been a blast, but I also came across my fair share of people monitoring my page and flagging without reaching out whatsoever in order to school me on what I may have been incorrectly doing. It's great to monitor the community, it's not cool to destroy people's opportunity at establishing a page or silently hammering someone's page without writing a post on why you're doing it, what Im doing wrong and how I can prevent this situation in the future. That can be viewed by the new/little people as cyberbullying. Great work. Hopefully you understand what im saying and can see that not all low reputation scores means a non-worthy page. Maybe I just didnt know the unwritten rules. Great videos overall! I am here to learn how to make my page grow and to avoid the obstacles that Im beginning to see as I become more experienced with the platform.

Very good job🖒

Thanks for your efforts. It's very useful to me :)

"Scam the platform? but I have a grandma that made 60 grand in one night!!"

hahaha.. Great explanation of the reputation system. You hit it right in the nail with the purpose of rep and how it works.

I'd like to recommend to the newbies another nifty tool.

http://steem.cool/

Which shows your reputation in detail as well as showing it in action. So as to make it easier for people to picture how the system works.

Looking forward to more videos!

Hey Alla... Thank you very much for your steemit videos. They are very helpful for us, the ones who are just starting in this platform. Great work ☺

yes they are :)) welcome!!

so glad they are helpful :))) you are welcome!

Thanks for making this very useful video on the Reputation score Alla. For the longest time, I tried to understand the methodology behind advancing in reputation score since it wasn't very well defined in the Steemit whitepaper, which reads like the Constitution lol.

However with continued active participation and engagement with my fellow Steemians on the comments sections of posts as well as continued creation of my own blog posts, I eventually discovered that eureka! you rise faster in reputation the more upvotes you receive from those ranked higher than you in reputation! I'm glad to see that you explain this point very succinctly in your video and I agree completely that it is always important to participate on the platform with good, high-quality comments. Plus steemwhales.com is an awesome site that I continue to check regularly!

In all, an awesome fourth video to your Steemit video series and you are absolutely smashing it right now. Keep making us all proud Stoody! :)

you are welcome ;))) yeah its not hard but i hope it is more clear now!! :)) your reputation is quite good given you only been here a while :)) well done!!!

Yup, I've been working hard every day to create content that everyone can appreciate and benefit from as I approach my one-month anniversary on Steemit wooo! It's great being inspired by your fantastic work on this platform so let's keep it going! STEEM ON!
