Starter's Kit for New Steemians: Useful Links & Apps (Part 1)

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

I've been using Steemit and exploring its vast universe for about three weeks now. Although it's always difficult to start building your little world on an all-new social/blockchain platform, fortunately there are quite a few ways to boost your experience on Steemit, earn some extra Steem/Steem Power/Steem Dollars and simply make your life easier.

Here's what I've discovered so far (and I'll be adding more interesting Steem tools as I find them, so more parts are coming soon):

steemd.com/{@ type your username here}: Probably the easiest way to keep track of all your basic user's data on Steemit, including you remaining Resource Credits, Voting Power, Vote Weight and much more. This service also displays the costs of different types of Steemit activity (comments, upvotes, transfers) and how many actions of each type you can perform with your available Resource Credits, thus helping you develop a strategy and manage your account better. Besides, there's a detailed log of all your recent activity on Steemit (like who upvoted your posts and with how much power, what rewards you received and for what, etc.). In fact, you can also view any other user's data, because Steemit seeks to be completely transparent. A must-use source.

steemblockexplorer.com/{@ type your username here}: An alternative to steemd.com with similar features. Check out both and decide which one you like best.

  • Partiko: A fast and handy Android app specifically designed to enhance your mobile experience (much better than using the mobile version of the Steemit website!). The app has all the major features, and some of them work even better. For instance, thanks to Partiko I discovered that my vote wasn't completely worthless (remember, I'm a new user!). The point is that Partiko displays three digits after the decimal point, unlike the Steemit website, which displays two. So my upvote is worth 0.001 Steem and not zero :) But the best thing is the ability to get Partiko reward points for your actions (upvotes, comments, posts and even daily check-in). You can use these points to get upvotes from Partiko and earn extra Steem.

  • Actifit: One of my craziest crypto dreams has come true: it is now possible to earn crypto by performing everyday physical activity (walking, running, shopping and even doing household chores)! Actifit is a Steem project which rewards you with some Steem for sending posts about your daily activity via its mobile app. However, to get a reward you must score at least 5000 activity points! Apart from upvotes, you also pile up Actifit tokens (AFIT), which will later be available for purchasing sports equipment, according to the developers. To learn more, see the Actifit website and the project's Steemit post.

  • Steemitboard: A board of honor for Steemit, stylish and fun! Get badges for completing achievements on Steemit, earn extra post rewards, view your board and that of other users and watch your fish grow! You already know the difference between a redfish and a minnow, right?:) If you don't, see this short post to get an idea.

  • Steemeum: Last but not least (this one is actually my favorite!) - a Proof-of-Time based virtual mobile miner for Steem! Mine Steem Dollars on your smartphone just like you mine Electroneum and get weekly payouts every Sunday. Last week, I got almost 1.5 SBD! I believe Steemeum is the best way for the new Steemians to jump-start their accounts. And the best place to find new Steemit friends too! Steemeum is a new project and needs your help to test it! To learn more, visit its Discord page and introduction post.

Thanks for reading! Your comments with more ideas on great Steem projects, apps and websites would be highly appreciated!
