Video Game Console emulators is a software allows you to run games on a different platform for which they were designed for and they aren't something new, occasionally were used by the first console developers in the 1980s to allow other hardware games to run on their devices, in fact the ColecoVision allowed to emulate Atari 2600 games which already had a wide catalog of games.

But what really established the emulators and made them something important was the born of the Personal Computer because in the 90's the progressed of the PC technically allow to replicate the behavior of some of the earliest consoles entirely through software, and so the rise of the first unauthorized, non-commercial console emulators began. Today's modern personal computers and game consoles it is generally more convenient and practical than in the original devices, and the management and configuration of current emulators is really simple and has almost configured to work.

Classic video games never went out of fashion, and over the years different emulators have been developed with which to play the titles of this or that console of our childhood, so you can't really go back in time, but metaphorically to the memories and emotions that these games caused when you still had time and less responsibilities and to spend some time with your old games.
