Here's one reason why you aren't making money from commenting.

How to discover who gives upvotes that pay and who's stiffin' ya!

I love SteemWorld. It's a great tool for analysing your Steemit experience and built by some genius called @steemchiller.

If you spend any amount of time composing thoughtful comments on other people's blogs, you may be wondering why you're still skint. I mean, everyone goes on about curation rewards and stuff, right?

Obviously, newbies and voters with low SP will not have much monetary value attached to their upvote. They can't help it. It's not their fault. It's still important to help them out with your upvotes, but...

Some wily Steemians can afford to share the love with their upvote, yet choose not to. You see their upvote on your comment, but is it worth anything? It really does pay to be vigilant.

Let's find out how to spot them pesky players...

Go to SteemWorld and type your @SteemitUsername after the /

A beautiful, user-friendly interface will appear.

Scroll to near the bottom of the page. You'll find this...

Click REFRESH. In a few moments, results will appear before your eyes.

Voila! You will see to the right an approximate $ value next to each upvote you received in the previous week.

Ah, so many zeros! It's ok. I've stopped crying now. Knowing is growing. Sorry about the GIF overload but I'm trying to honour privacy or something. Ha!

Ew, but why are you focusing on money? Ew, that's like, so vulgar! Ew, Jesus will totally not love you anymore.

Yeah, yeah, we're all here for the community or charity or the larks or something. Yeah, yeah. I believe you. But after a hard day's charitying or rescuing old grannies, is there any harm in making cash?

Ew, you make me sick!

Let's suppose you're also a weirdo that likes money from time to time. This should help you work out who's playing you and who deserves a bit of love in return.

Happy Steeming.

Lol I think i prefer to remain oblivous to who awards me some moola for my comments. Its kinda like when you forget money in your jeans and then put them on and you like oooh free money a gift from me to me!

hahah I see what you mean. I think I was happier before knowing too but I can't unsee what I saw. This is for anyone that's interested in making more money on their comments, help prevent them from wasting time on people that are using them, so to speak :D

Thanks for your comment :)

Yes, I see what you mean, there are some people who just never upvote comments. It could be because they don't have enough votes for everything they want to do, or maybe it hasn't occurred to them to vote for a comment. We have @dustsweeper now for very low value votes, so that's a little more in the kitty. On the other hand, I made nearly as much from votes on a comment as I did from the post!

Hiya shanibeer. I didn't know about @dustsweeper. That sounds like a good idea. So all the low votes go back in the pot?

I'm not sure why people don't upvote comments. Probably lots of reasons. Maybe low Voting Power, forgetfulness or saving them for the circle-jerk :D

Ah, it's so hard to get posts noticed innit.

Commenting on posts helps raise your profile, especially if the post you're commenting on has lots of viewers. Always good to get around that way :D

Thanks for your comment :)

Here's the announcement post about dustsweeper - explains everything 😊

Thanks for the link @shanibeer. What a great idea. The makers of this deserve their cut for putting in the work, so everyone wins. I'm gonna look more into this today.

Thanks :D

I check steemworld from time to time. It’s an excellent tool.
I have no delusions about getting rich on Steemit. I just like to have fun, but I am one of those weirdos who also love money and it’s a nice bonus to get some valuable upvotes for sure.

I like your contest and have already submitted a Creepy story... it’s simple, easy and fun! Thanks!

Hiya Poyim. Great to meet another weirdo who likes money :D

Same here. It's great for fun.

Thanks for joining the contest. I love reading the stories. I remember your name, probably coz you write a great yarn. I'll be back in there tomorrow to do some more upvoting. Been a bit trigger happy today with the upvotes and am getting low on VP :D

See ya tomoz :D

Thanks!

I’m always trigger happy too, but unfortunately my upvotes, even at 100%, aren’t worth zilch. LoL. So enjoy my zilch. :)

Lol zilch!

If you go to BUSY you can use their slider to ration your zilch ahahah XD

There are a lot of stingy buggers who won't share the love, but you just avoid those bums and heap praise instead upon the generous souls of which, happily, there are many.
A bit of reciprocation makes the world go round and if someone takes the time to read my scribblings, or even pretends to, I think they definitely deserve a little something in return. ....and it's not as if it costs anything.

Note: Anj do NOT upvote this comment as according to steemworld I have already been the beneficiary of enough of your largess this day/week.

LOL. Yes there are some stingy buggers out there.

Yes, it's taken a while but I'm starting to see the value in people who reciprocate. I don't even care if the person has zero SP; it's the generosity of spirit that matters (to me anyway).

I agree... it's nice to have someone actually read your blogs and then prove it in the comments section.

Thanks for your comment, Deirdy :)
