I Found This Recipe Today.
I don't Know Where It
Originated, But,
It Is A Very
Good Recipe.
Circa 1986
This Recipe Was Given To Me
By A School Friend.
I Love These, Because They
Are Chewy And Softer
Than Other Cookies.
SNICKERDOODLES
You Will Need:
1 Cup Of Shortening
2 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
1/2 Teaspoons Salt
1 + 1/2 Cups Of Sugar
2 + 3/4 Flour, Sifted
1 Teaspoons Baking Soda
3 Tablespoons Of sugar
2 Teaspoons Of Cinnamon
2 Med To Large Size Mixing Bowls
Cereal Bowl
Cookie Sheet
Spoon & Spatula
Measuring Utensils
Mix 1 Cup Of Shortening And 1 + 1/2 Cups Of Sugar In Mixing Bowl Til Blended
Add Eggs And Beat Til Blended, Set Aside
In 2nd Separate Mixing Bowl
Sift Together Flour, Cream of Tartar, Baking Soda And Salt
Stir The Flour Mixture Into The Creamed Mixture From 1st Bowl
Chill In Fridge Til Firmer, About 10 To 30 Minutes
Meanwhile, Mix 3 Tablespoons Of Sugar
With 2 Teaspoons Of Cinnamon In Cereal Bowl
Remove Cookie Dough From Fridge When
Just Chilled Enough To Stick And Form
Roll Cookie Dough Into Balls
Size Of A Large Walnut,
Rolls Dough Balls In Cinnamon & Sugar Mixture
Place Dough Balls On Cookie Sheet About
2 Inches Apart
Bake In Oven 400 Degrees For 8 To 10 Minutes
Note:
You Will Want To Remove These From Oven When
Cookies Are Dry On Top, Otherwise
They Will Be Too Hard To Chew When Cooled Off
Use Spatula To Remove Cookies From Cookie Sheet After Cooled
Makes About 4 Dozen Cookies
Cookies Can Be Stored In Ziplock Bag Or
Airtight Container For 1 Week
Note: If Your Oven Is Too Hot
Turn Down 350 To 375 Degrees
Snickerdoodles Scorch Very Easy
Snickerdoodles Go Good With Milk
Or Vanilla Ice Cream or Alone!
