RE: SCT Update 1.0.6 ~ Too many 'Challenges' in your Feed? Here comes the new 'Challenge-Filter' for Steemit ;)

in #steemit7 years ago

SteemWorld - I love using it as a guide. Was wondering whether a small change is possible. The image showing voting power percentage, is there someway for it to show a thin line (like a clock without numbers) indicating where the voting value increases? That would provide a hint of how long I must wait for that extra percent.

Thanks for all you have done to make Steemit life easier for us.

Thanks! I'm currently working full time on the SW Web API and I'm not sure if/when I find time for such a visual improvement. You could set the voting power control to the desired percentage and watch the "VP ~> X%" value where the time/duration is shown.

That is brilliant! I did not know I could do that. It fully satisfies my need, as per my request above.

I went for downloading the SCT and saw Tampermonkey. Checking it out, I saw it synchronises with Cloud. I do not use cloud memory/data storage. Would it open me to such storage for synchronising on its own? (I do not trust cloud and seeing recent attacks on cloud data, I feel justified, plus, I have no need of it.) Another point, I still use XP SP2 and therefore can only use Firefox upto v51. Would SCT work without the monkeytamper and with my version of Firefox? I'm asking, for I already find I cannot use DTube and lots of videos (especially streaming) on You Tube (I get the message about learning about HTML5).

Funny thing was, I found this post because I wanted to ask whether you could make an app to enable me to affect my "Feed" results. I wanted to have a way to influence or give more 'weight' to my favourite authors - being rather old, I forget to check many of them as there are too many posts each time on my feed. If I've understood the above, you do give that possibility, so I want to use it.

I would also love to have a way to check my follow/followers, so that I can remove those who never visit my posts. Maybe as an idea for the future?

Thanks for replying and being so helpful, much appreciated.

Tampermonkey by default doesn't have access to any files/data on your machine. Automatic updates and many more things can be configured in the settings (switch config mode to expert).

I still use XP SP2

If you don't like all these cloud and auto update services I recommend you to take a look at Linux Mint (I'm using the MATE Edition). Todays Linux versions are really easy to set up and they come with a desktop like on Windows as well.

Keep in mind that when you're working with such an old system, your whole pc is kind of a public cloud because it is attackable in more than thousand ways my friend ;)

Will give it a try, thanks - have already downloaded Mint, Sylvia Mate Desktop 18.3
