RE: Lets Do This to Support STEEM Everywhere

in #steemit7 years ago

I think Steem will soon overpass other social networks. My experience so far in Steem is stellar. Decent content, knowledge and very friendly people (just like you are, @socky), so that I'm pretty confident we will shoot up shortly.

However, as a community-focused, we need to devote ourselves together with the growth of Steem. I have invited five new people to join Steem so far, and wish to see more in the future.

Regarding visibility, I believe that Steem will soon be recognized and listed on more exchanges!

That is remarkable. I know how difficult it is to get people to sign up. It is different here and not what people are custom to.

Great, you understand the importance of growth!
Growth of monthly active users will have the largest impact to value. Since STEEM/Steemit platform is very cheap to operate, price of STEEM will mirror value. It is not the number of accounts, but the number of active users, so it is important that the users continue to use Steemit.

My concern is access. I personally experienced this since I refuse to use Bittrex since they stole $1000 from me. Now that I don't use Bittrex, I have no good way to sell SBD. I could sell it on BlockTrades with a huge fee or I can sell it on the local market which has ridiculously low trading volumes and often not a good price because everyone is trying to do the same thing. I can't trade on UpBit because I can't read Korean. There really is no good option for me. I can now relate to other languages because I can now feel what it is like to be in their shoes. Since Bittrex is English only and UpBit is Korean only, your options are not good if you can't read English or Korean. If the currency is not usable for the majority of the world, then they aren't going to sign up for Steemit. This is severely limiting growth. Getting both STEEM and SBD on multilingual exchanges is key to real growth. Not the current few thousand new accounts per day. We need to be in the 10's of thousands per day of new accounts.

Thanks for doing your part to convince people to sign up. Every bit helps.

Hi, thanks for your input. I understand well your concern. Have you tried Poloniex? I'm not a big fan of Poloniex either, but since we use it primarily as an exchange, we can easily sell our SBD there and withdraw BTC with ease.

But the future, i'm in favor for Binance to support SBD.

Hey, I since I've got your attention, would you support using one of your witness votes to vote for a witness (IF) they accomplish the challenge of getting STEEM or SBD on a major exchange. You have so many witness votes left to use. It couldn't hurt.

Sure thing, let me know which witness you are talking about. I can upvote it :)

Thank you!

Both Ploniex and HitBTC trade STEEM and SBD. The problem is that they stopped using the main wallet that allows STEEM and SBD transactions in and out of the exchange. It has been this way for 5 months. You can buy all you want, but you can't get it off the exchange. Don't dare to send SBD or STEEM to the exchange because the currency will get stuck on the wallet that isn't being maintained.

Have you notice the massive price swings of SBD on HitBTC?

HitBTC is not really trading any SBD. It is all fake. Investors are winning and loosing big on it with real money, but the virtual supply of SBD on HitBTC is fake.

Her is why. HitBTC has abandoned the central STEEM/SBD wallet for 5 months (presumably forever). Within their exchange they have a virtual wallet system. Normally when you transfer STEEM or SBD in or out of the exchange, you would send it through a central wallet via a memo to keep track of who has what.

Since HitBTC has abandoned their STEEM/SBD wallet for so long, people who have transferred any STEEM/SBD into HitBTC have long since sold it for something else or just abandoned it.

You can go and look at the HitBTC STEEM/SBD wallet and you will find that nothing is happening to the balance.

So what are they trading?
Answer: It is fake money. Make believe. It is not real.
The only thing is real is investors are buying up this fake virtual money on HitBTC and trading it in high stakes gambling.

If HitBTC keeps up this system of fake currency trading on their exchange, people will eventually learn that HitBTC is not a real exchange and abandon it.

Poliniex is doing the same thing as HitBTC.
In summary, No-one can use Poloniex for STEEM or SBD.
