Steemit 101 | E. ~29 : Basic Resources to Help You on Steemit. | For All The New People Arriving Daily
Keeping my word to continue to share / re-share Steemit 101 type things because I had help when I was new, and we have new users daily who are lost like we were when we were new!
Hoping my regular Steemit 101 / Crypto 101 type posts continue to help all the new people coming daily.
It may not help YOU if you have been here weeks or months, but I always remember some people have been here hours, or days, and they need the resources like we did, when we were new.
Everyone will be new at some point, we should help one another how we can. That is what community is about.
Some sites that were always up, have gone down - some for good I think.... some for days or hours.... then some new ones have popped up also, we will cover them one by one.

Today: STEEMIT 101: How to Change Your Avatar / Profile Pics on Steemit.
Super Easy Instructions for Non Techy People.
1/ Go to your main Steemit page. Click "Blog"/ Settings. ( ie -Beside your "Wallet" tab ) // Settings opens up to what you see below here in the graphic -- a box for you to PASTE your image url into. ("PROFILE PICTURE URL" box)

Then:
2/ Go find your picture / picture url online -- someplace like your Twitter page or your domain/web address page etc etc.
3/ RIGHT click on that
4/ "Copy Image Location" or similar will be in the drop down.
5/ PASTE that into your setting bar.
6/ It may change and auto refresh, but if not--- Use the new UPDATE button there, it has changed there over the months...... REFRESH your page and it should be there.
The process to change your COVER PHOTO is essentially the same...
-- It works best using a 1920x320 size image!!

-- Head to the same area (Settings)
then just find a url that you like that works nicely for you ---
... and insert that url into the Cover Photo area:

In the last 12 mths, I have written a couple times on this in my various Steemit 101 Series' to share with new people - and you can see the initial graphic right there from my own page shows / reflects this since I am approaching 5000 followers now.
Also I am a numbers guy so seeing the %'age move as my personal stats changed, means something also.
A bit about me, if you are still reading...
( Aug. 7th, 2017 -- was my 1-year Birthday / Anniversay on Steemit )
Here is my big 1-year Steemiversary Post I did for that day. You can see lots of my stats and progression there and it is funny too, as well as reflectful of my time here the first year:
Nearly every one of my many posts the first 8 mths here were 100% Steem Powered and invested right back into the platform.
The last few months I have liquidated half my post rewards (the liquid portion) and cashed that out -- I needed some money to invest strategically into some things and it has really paid off.
That's the only reason I do not have about ~ 50,000 SP now - in case you are looking at numbers, or wondering some things or timelines.
Another way to say things is I joined here on August 7th, 2016 and it took me til April 3rd 2017 (8 mths + 4 days) to hit 11, 177 SP.
And a total of 14 mths, 21 days to hit 25,000 SP -- since the last few mths as I said, I have been cashing out half my post rewards to use for other things.
And things have really changed here a few times, in the last 12 months believe me.

I hope to continue to help people here.
I really do maintain a Minnow Mindset.
I know what it feels like to be new, overlooked, or forgotten about.
I say it often to remind people I do care -- and do relate and remember.

This has really upset some people but I do not force my opinions on others, or need to communicate every detail of my life or issues, most people do not care anyways. I invested around 10 hours or more a day on Steemit most of my first 13 mths here, I just do not have that time in my life right now, and that includes for replies and voting/curation.

Do you think it would be advantageous to purchase steem power as someone just starting, or should I just focus on building organically? Or both? Thank you!
