Beware of the Hustlers and Scammers of Steemit - A Newbie Experience

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

I just started a little bit over more than 2 weeks ago here on Steemit. I had fun posting and blogging. It has been a good learning experience especially writing a post here nevertheless, with a lot of research and watching tutorials on Youtube. Thank God I was able to learn it and got used to it.

As a newbie, I was so curious about how I can grow my account by increasing upvotes, building followers, having interactions with my posts and to up my level so I can get somehow a good amount of money from doing this. Having said that, I explored the Steemit Chat because they said that it's an effective way to promote your account and to be exposed to people in the Steemit community.

Yesterday, I created my account on Steemit Chat. While I was exploring and enjoying some chats with other Steemians somebody named @grumpycat direct messaged me, asking if I want to have my account up to level 56 by just sending 2 SBD to @bittrex with the memo d9bc272057644832bea I told him I only have 1.3SBD on my account and he said that will do. With that offer, I did ask myself what if I gave it a try since I only have a little amount yet on my account. I was positive that the offering is true because I have this high expectation in Steemit community that nobody will do hustling and scam here. So I did what he told me to do so.

He even sent me these images on how to do the transfer...

Right after the transfer, I was so positive and hoping that my account will be changed to level 56 as promised. After a while, when I logged back in, there was no change at all in my account. I already concluded that I was scammed. I know you guys would tell me how stupid am I.

Though it's just a little amount, I just would like to give a WARNING TO ALL STEEMIANS especially the newbies like me not to trust anyone when it comes to an inviting offer in exchange of SBD which you know for a fact that it is the result of your hard work here on Steemit.

It was a lesson learned for me and hopefully people like him would stop doing something bad for the Steemit community.
