Thanks for the info, didn't know about the voting info on Steemd. I'm not sure you've got it all right though. I'm digging into this myself right now. I guess you have looked at https://steem.io/getinvolved/paid-to-curate/ and it does not say anything on time, just that you need to be among the first since your payout weight will fall exponentially the more existing steem power has already voted.
