Witnesses.... DO you know them?steemCreated with Sketch.

So I have been on the site for a bit, and there are these people called witnesses. I guess they run some stuff that keeps the Site running. BUT did you know the Top 20 get paid for that... LIKE 250 Steem a day.

I understand that we need people to do it, but It is definitely something I am going to look into. One witness also posts, and they are not very good, copy and past things. It was on the top of trending the other day. WHO IS WATCHING THE WATCHERS.......

oh really?
that is a lot of steem, but they invest a lot in devices i guess

Ya I don't think your power bill is 250 a day though. Maybe 20 bucks. A lot of them don't accept payouts, It is just a few who are almost making 700 steem a day. And then cashing out.

I saw someone posting about how much money the platform is funded for and why it's been down so much and clunky. These salaries make that even more of a question. I get we were attacked but aren't these the technical people who get things done?

I have not read too much about this issue from the big guys and I have read lots from the little ones. This has been very difficult couple of weeks with the ups and downs, but I'm still swimming down here in minnowland. Wondering if the big guys are thinking of us or not.

Hoping they have a lovely steemfest and think of the 99% down here.

Ya site has sucked big time. Also witness are not the programmers in theory, but a programmer can be a witness.

How many hours does a witness have to work each day or do they work every day? Do they clock in and out or do they just have to work until the work's done? I'm totally clueless... anyone know? It is a lot of money if they work only 8 hours every day and they need no high tech education or training.

I am not a expert either, I just really now found out about it. Will look into it some more. I don't think you work 8 hours a day, and I know anyone can be a witness.
