Why is Steemit so pernickety
So - spent 2 hours writing a post..
Lots backup links to support what I was saying.
Youtube video that formed central thesis.
Image correctly inserted.
Used all the linking tools provided to insert hyperlinks.
Then tag and post.
Nope - gives a 'Remove HTML tag ins' error
Sour post for nearly an hour,
HTML view - no such tags.
So I remove all the hyperlinks, even the image.
Still won't post.
I have - in the same time, posted the same article on 6 other sites. No issues.
Sure there are differences in formatting - but why is this system so awkward..
Not the first time - but if it's so difficult to generate material that satisfies the parser on this engine - I really don't know if I can be bothered..
Am I alone in this?
I can find no FAQ on this - no explanation on what the error actually means (as it sure ain't as straightforward as an 'ins' tage - cos there are none in the piece I was submitting) No help from the interface.
Could be I'm an imbecile - I've only been coding for a few decades.
wtf is going on?
Not a clue. Personally I've had no issues so far!
did you use markdown formatting? I find it pretty easy to catch on to and the most reliable for Steemit. There are a few HTML tags you can use like "center" but not a lot of them. I find that for HTML I have to do trial and error.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I'm actually not doing anything clever - putting a few links in basically.. Unsure what the page thinks I'm inserting and seems no way - other than trial and error to find out. After an hour of re-formatting the page 5 times I gave up. ;)
yeah I got pretty frustrated with trying to get links and pictures into posts when i started.. then i figured out using markup links are just [title here](link here) and bob's your uncle. Pictures can go straight in now.
I'm not able to drop in raw HTML easily, which makes it difficult to cut & paste from another web page, @bill-froog
Empathize with your frustration, Bill.
