Consensus on self votes
Really looking forward to hearing from the steem community about this topic , how do you feel about self voting your own content here on steem.
I want to do my part in being a good addition to the steem community, I used to feel like it was my voting power and should be used as I see fit,but am realizing that a selfish and impatient approach to steem is not good for the greater good of the community,
I fell like I was not a horrible participant in this steem experience but I can see how looking at this platform from a sctricly monetary aspect would really sell it short,
I think society is focued so much on money but I think it's important to remember that value comes in many forms and can be very subjective, and so I am trying to look for more from Steem than just making some money.
Really looking forward to hear from you about self votes and the concept of being a good participant on steem or anything else that I mentioned or that comes to mind.
Hope you got some value from my post,
Thanks for stopping by, your upvote, comments and resteems are truly appreciated.
I see it as investing in my effort and a little return on the investment of my own money, which has shrunk dramatically over the last year.
I hear that, what was the price when you invested ?
I got in at a few different prices but the most I paid was $3.50 per steem, that is a distant memory.
Dear @bitcoinman
Personally I prefer to use my upvote to reward someone else and build my influence. Upvoting my own content additionaly would most likely attract wrong-kind-attention. So it's best to avoid it (especially if your account carry larger amount of SP).
Upvote on the way :)
Yours, Piotr
Thanks for the input I'm trying to do the same and make the community better
Hi @bitcoinman
Few days ago I've shared your post with some friends and I've noticed that you received few solid comments :)
Look, I I've noticed that you've been posting sometimes about crypto, blcokchain and technology. I love those topics as well.
If you would ever publish anything related to technology, economy, marketing, psychology or steemit etc - then send me link in memo. I'm trying to support quality content and I have 2-3 upvotes daily to spare from @project.hope (over 200k SP) i my own account. I will gladly support your publications (as long as they represent solid quality :)
Yours, Piotr
knock knock @bitcoinman :)
would you mind if I take few minutes of your time? (I hope I'm not asking this question to often ;)
Anyway .... together with few core members of project.hope team - we'te trying to promote our recent publication: an article explaining economy behind our non-profit community project build on STEEM blockchain.
Perhaps I could ask you to spare few minutes and check it out and share your feedback with me.
I would absolutely appreciate it a lot. I read all comments and I drop solid upvote on each valuable one.

Hello @bitcoinman,
in short... I don't like self upvotes but I understand if some still do it.
Some, especially large accounts, can be seen doing it over and over still.
They've got a lot at stake with their SP and from this standpoint I can understand if someone does it.
On the other hand it's a little like padding yourself on the own shoulder somehow, isn't it?
So, I don't do it. But again, I'm in SBI and @project.hope, both projects to help their members to get recognition and upvotes. You see I have a really hard time to clearly identify "bad behavior" other than dispensing downvotes from anon accounts. 🤷♂️
Cheers!
Lucky
I hear that, makes sense and you cover the shift in my attitude in your comment , thanks for the great input I will be looking more into project hope when I have some time
Ty!
i vote my own post, but it's worth less than voting on other people's post, so i think that part has been taken care of
I think it's not a big problem as it's a feature of steemit but I think the whales and other big steem players don't like it and may not upvote
Hi @bitcoinman
Good point friend. However, I must admit that I particularly vote for my publications when I remember to do many of them I forget, it is possible because I really forgot to do it, a long time ago I had the vote automatically.
But I preferred to remove it in order to help other countrymen who need to grow.
But I can tell you that I respect whoever does it.
Yours.
Lanzjoseg
Same with me I would automatically upvote in the past but now I am trying to be come community centric and this post has gotten lots of traction so I will try and spread the votes instead, also tba is for the resteem appricate that
Hello, @bitcoinman
My upvote doesn't have much power, but I guess it's just as well appreciated.
I think I heard that the self-upvote was more important now with the new HF. However, if everyone voted for themselves and not others, I guess this platform would have withered long ago. I think the most important thing about upvoting is appreciating the content of others. It is a way of understanding that you are on the right track.
It's my opinion.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
I agree thanks for stopping by , lots of ways to contribute indeed
Nothing wrong with self votes if it's not overdone. Regarding the monetary aspect, right now well, only the few top accounts are just taking almost everything, telling everyone else that they should "not be in it for the money". I would think this is a pretty bad direction for Steem. Maybe Justin Sun will be able to save it.
I don't know about Justin hahaha
I'm not a fan either, but it's a man with money :)
You have a solid point and no it might not be right to reward yourself.. Especially when you can give yourself $40 plus upvotes... But the size should not matter... I do still upvote myself too... But the thin is I use an automatic curator which follows all of the big curators.. So whenever they curate someone I automatically also curate them.. And sometimes I get curated by one and I do automatically upvote myself.
Thanks for using eSteem!
