Remember The Day February 14, Is PETA Resistance Day?
On 14 February in the national history of Indonesia, was declared a memorial to the PETA Uprising (Pembela Tanah Air) in Blitar City in 1945.
Precisely 6 (six) months before the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
The PETA rebellion was led by Shodancho Supriyadi, who until now is reportedly missing wherever he is, but is designated a national hero.
The PETA (Pembela Tanah Air) troop, formed by the Japanese Imperial military in Indonesia, was established in October 1943.
By recruiting Indonesian youth and being trained as Soldiers.
Narrated army this map was formed to defend the islands of Java, Bali, and Sumatra from Allied forces (United States, England, Australia, Netherlands).
However, the history noted PETA rebelled when young commanders were touched to see the suffering of the Indonesian people enslaved by the Japanese army.
The work of Rodhi, Romusha, Forced Labor, by the Japanese at that time, where, unpaid and fed, the people were mobilized for forced labor to build fortresses and other Japanese army facilities.
In another story, PETA Army also made a furious when witnessing the behavior of Japanese soldiers to Indonesian women who were used as their sex slaves.
Another problem was when these PETA officers did not have a higher rank than the Japanese Kroco class soldiers, and the PETA Officers were told they were being harassed by their honor when they had to honor these kroco soldiers.
Finally, it was recorded in the Indonesian national history that on February 14th, 1945, at 3am local time, PETA troops under the command of Shodancho Supriyadi attacked Sakura Hotel, the residence of the Japanese Imperial military officers, as well as Kempetai headquarters and other places which became the residence of the Japanese army.
Unexpectedly the place where the PETA army was attacked with mortars and machine guns has been emptied, because the PETA rebellion plan has been leaked and known by the Japanese army.
At least by remembering the story of the struggle above, we son of the son of the Indonesian nation today, may if take the attitude of inheriting the spirit of nationalism, to liberate his nation, his homeland from the grip of foreign colonization.
Do not let our natural wealth be robbed of foreign countries and we who have it just do not feel at all, because only enjoyed by a handful of officials of this country who have a strategic position within the government.
The implementation of the 1945 Constitution article 33 paragraphs 1, 2 and 3, which should prosper the people of Indonesia, not as well as implemented properly and implemented by the government to the people.
The spirit of PETA soldiers in the story of 14 February is a mirror for young Indonesian youth, to rise up and fight against the colonization and control of a foreign country against our Indonesian homeland and its natural wealth.
All belong to the people of Indonesia, Salam Struggle.
