I think the important point that you identify here is that people can be rewarded for reporting bugs and feature requests...
Automate a bounty flow from Steemit to Github back through Steem again and we have a big winner on our hands.

I see a huge opportunity here.
Steem could finally achieve what bitcoin tips never did - wide adoption.
And it's already happening, since we see people use Steemit in this way, without the platform being generally "ready" for it yet.
