Can someone explain why the value of a post fluctuates without a change to voters?
I've seen my latest storyhttps://steemit.com/story/@bobbybillbob/tham-chang-cave-laos-part-4
fluctuate in value while the number of voters has remained (19 as of this post). It hasn't been by more than a dollar, and usually a few cents, but can someone help explain the mechanics of the changing evaluation?
Thanks in advance!

People are voting elsewhere effecting your share of the total prize pool from which all posts are awarded. If your upvotes freeze but others start gaining a ton your share will shrink.
ok, cool, thanks!
I've seen the value go down as well as up. Does the explanation hold true when the valuation goes up as well? Is there a way you can describe an upward trend in valuation? TY
I guess that would happen when I really popular post get's paid out and leaves the payout cycle you are in. The payout pool is on a rotating cycle ever changing in response to the votes. You didn't see anything too drastic did you? I've found generally my posts will drop 5 - 10% from their peak by payout time.
no, I think 5% was the max/min change.
Thanks for explaining! I love community!
No worries, Steemit is really complicated for newbs. It's one of the biggest issues we're facing. The good news is that it is actively being worked on and changes happen every day.
Steemon!
It is effected by both the price of steem and votes on other threads.
Good point I forgot the price of steem was involved too. More complex!
