What’s going on Steemers, today’s post will be specificcaly for the audience to decide what they want to hear. I know everyone has questions about how steemit works, how to build your account, the differ nice between Steem, Steem power, and a Steem dollars. What to post about, how to create a cool page etc..i had the same questions when I first started and in 2 months I have built a following of almost 1000 Steemers!

I have done extensive research in how everything works, the ins and outs, of Steem and the Steemit platform and have plenty of tips and tricks that I learned hands on and proved to work for me that I am willing to kindly share with everyone, so please ask away! And don’t forget to share this post so you can help the other Steemers so we can build the community together! Thank you!

One question I do have, which really isn't about Steemit utilization, is, what do you see in store for the future of Steemit? Do you believe it will keep getting more popular, and the financial system will work as proposed?

I see the flagging wars, and, "Rewards Pool Rape," as they call it, but I guess some problems are to be expected.

Another thing that bothers me is when I see people with a lot of SP that post some silly meme that makes a ton of money, I guess because all their buddies upvote it, and I have to wonder if that can be good in the long run. I've spent hours trying to post a worthwhile article, and have them make $0.00, or very little. It's somewhat discouraging.

I wasn't able to invest any cash in Steem, and I'm not a good writer, so I don't know that I can ever do much on Steemit. I upvote content that I enjoy, but I usually make very little from that. It's pretty difficult for low SP Steemians.

Thanks for your post.

First off let me say DO NOT STOP STEEMING. I believe 100% that Steem will keep growing. They are currently working on a lot of the problems and coming out with smart media tokens (SMT’s) that will cause Steem to skyrocket this year. People getting huge upvote for content with no value usually upvote the, selves and yes you are right, their whale friends that upvote also, but you can’t blame friends for helping friends. All you can do is grow your account. Reason you may not being getting paid a substantial amount is because of the way you market your account. You have to have eye catching titles and a loud picture to pull the readers in, once they click on your post you should have valuable content and they will respond to it in positive ways. Trust me. You have to make sure you’re posting one solid blog a day and that your tags are popular tags that are trending on steemit. Lastly you have to market your account, make a YouTube, Dtube, Dmania and connect all your accounts to pull in more followers. You can even make a website like I did on WordPress and hook it up to your account. Mines brandonscalera.com and all it does is bring people to steemit. Spending a couple dollars on advertising your post with SBD also and just keep pushing. Once you get close to 1000k followers your account starts to take off.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I have been busy the last few days, and am just now getting a chance to respond. Actually, I'm not a very good writer, so I post very little on Steemit, but I enjoy the good content on here, and I do upvote that content, and always offer worthwhile comments, not just the "good post" comments that you see so often. I very much believe in Steemit, and I do believe it's going to be HUGE. I also believe that the powers that be will continue working in order to make Steemit the best that it can be. All things considered, I'd say it's really pretty darn good right now, but just has some growing pains. lol

I agree with BRANDONSCALERA. You are at the beginning, and so am I.I am thinking about writing about a subject of which I have some experience, but before I will investigate how to write in a post and also publish news. From this I get a guide, and "start writing."I remind you that every beginning is PAINFUL or DIFFICULT, and mistakes are made, but it is only the beginning. As you publish more and more, you fine-tune your skill and your writing has more quality.Cheer up write everything you can think of (in a draft); then calmly corrects and improves the writing.Follow the advice of BRANDONSCALERA, at least have a BLOG, where you can extend what you expose and much success .....

whales come out at night

Hiya Brandon,

Your growth in 2 months is amazing!

What would your top 5 tips be for a Steemit newbie?

I am starting to research it and watch others videos to learn more about Steemit but of course there is a lot to learn!

Also I am totally new to this crypto currency / Blockchain world (I’m not even sure if that’s the general category name!) would you say you need extensive knowledge in this to understand Steemit better?

Amazing post for newbies like me lol

Thanks!

can we convert steem power into sbd

Yes you have to “power down” your Steem power. Once it goes to your account after a week or so you can transfer the Steem into SBD

thanks bro

How does steemit generate profit if they are paying us?

At its root, Steem is simply a points system. However, because this points system is blockchain-based, the points can be traded on markets as tokens. People buy and sell these tokens, and many hold in anticipation of increased purchasing power for various Steem-related services. - FAQ’s

Really the only people that make money are the authors and curators like you, me and the bigger whales that own a large portion of Steem.

How do you start a paragraph with an indent ?

Press space a couple times or you can read online some tutorials on how to edit steemit typing

A bit of a stupid question. When I post a video in dtube, it appears here on my blog. But the video thumbnail is really a bit small. How do you make it larger? Or is there a better way to post videos?

You can’t make it larger, best way is too repost it as a YouTube or movie file on steemit.

Thanks, which leads to the second question. How do you post a movie file? It seems like it is only possible to do text and images?

Just copy the file link/url and spa steemit does the rest for you!

Great, thanks!

Self voting on the other hand is quite self explanatory. I see many people don’t like self voters for obvious reasons. There are ongoing debates whether to self vote or curate and which one is more profitable..

How do curation awards work? Sometimes I will earn sdb from other peoples comments off of my original comment and sometime I don't. Why is this ?

Up to 25% of a post's payout is awarded to curators (the people who upvoted the post) as a reward for discovering the content. The other 75% is awarded to the author. If curators vote for a post within the first 30 minutes of it being created, a portion of their curation reward is added to the author payout. This portion is linear to the age of the post between 0 and 30 minutes. Therefore upvoting at 15 minutes old will donate half of your potential curation reward to the author. -FAQ’s

Thanks, I guess Ill have to constantly be watching steemnow with my finger on the trigger

Am I reading this wrong.. Does that not mean that if you upvote too early then you are likely to decrease the curation reward that you may potentially get? @brandonscalera

Nope, not at all. You can upvote yourself without it effecting the post or payment.

I would love to know how to attract audience to my post, cos most times, its not just about quality content.
