I don't see anything wrong with late votes. You have a time period to allocate you votes and where you allocate them makes a difference in your return. Don't waste voting power chit chatting throughout the day. You may get involved in a trending post later and your power would be better spent there in the long run. So no need to try and predict the future value of something if you have some time to sit on it. I do understand the there could be a case of waiting to vote could burry a few poor decisions. But, no one is perfect and we just need to encourage real activity on the site. I give props to anyone who is attracting in money and people to Steemit.com. I did love the shakedown though! That's what blockchain is all about!!! Play nice!! :-)
