It is very tough to explain in a pool meeting. It almost has to be something I show on the computer but there are different ways to interact with the data on the blockchain. There is a CLI wallet where you can input commands. Some of which aren't available though Steemit.com
Also you can code in Python, Java, Java Script, Ruby....etc Here is a list of tools and websites that can help http://steemtools.com/
