Naughty Tagger's List 2/18/18 - 2/24/2018 -- Tag spammers identified. Now the ball's in your court!
The list below identifies the authors who have "Introduced" themselves or products more than 20 times since the start of 2018 AND have posted again in this tag last week. Only the first (worst) 50 records are printed here.
This is information only. The information was obtained programmatically and no favoritism was given to any author.
It is possible that some of these authors have legitimate reasons for using the introduceyourself tag repeatedly, it is up to the community to decide that.
This article (post) is also being tagged with the introduceyourself category. I believe it does belong under this tag, but let me know if you prefer not to have it posted there. I will certainly listen to the community on this subject.
The list below includes articles only (no comments) and only includes authors who have new posts last week in the introduceyourself tag.
Tag spam can really make it hard to find articles you are truly interested in when authors intentionally post their content using tags that really do not apply to their article's content.
If you find this tag spam to be unacceptable behavior, then let the author know. A quick comment with your honest view point may be sufficient to make a real change. Letting them know they are on "The Naughty Taggers List" may be plenty useful.
I will be updating this list on a weekly basis.
It is possible the authors below have already made changes to their tags and habits and their newer posts may be more properly categorized. But the count is accurate one way or the other as to the number of articles in the "Introduceyourself" category as of the time the list was generated.
Feedback is requested, good or bad. I'm working towards a great platform, but your concept of great might be different than mine, so I am very interested in your concept. Also, let me know if you would like to see more of these types of list.
Please resteem this post if you think this information might be useful to the Steemit community.

This is great! Thank you for sharing this. Hopefully, more people will find it and start reporting these abusers. I hate it that posts get buried beneath spam so quickly.
Yes, DSTO (Down Scrolled to Oblivion)
Blessings!
Eventually, we'll get things under control. That will make it much more rewarding for the rest of us. Think of how much Steem and SBD is being allocated to all of those spammy posts!
I certainly hope you are right, but unfortunately as more people come in, the more spam there is likely to be, unless more people start flagging it.
My next mission is to start targeting the vote for vote posts. This is where the real rape of the rewards pool is likely to be.
Blessings
Yes, that is very true. I'm working on making YouTube videos directed toward new Steemers. My hope is that they will be watched and people will learn how to properly use this platform. In addition, I'd like to get a bot of my own going to help promote them.
With your marketing capability and tenacity , the video will do very well.
The bot part is more difficult unless you are a programmer, it takes every hour of my day already.
Blessings!
Yeah, I have no knowledge of programming. I'll have to find someone to help me out and learn more as time goes on.
You may be able to hire a programmer at @steemj
Those that comment are almost all programmers.
as a new user of steemit i wasn't aware of this, there's always some prick trying to rort the system no matter how many safeguards or deterrents you put in place .......the community as a whole need to get on board with this so we all get ours!
You speak the truth!
Glad to have you on board.
Blessings!
Thanks for collecting and and showing this info, it genuinely helps a bunch. Havent been on steemit very long but 2 things I was told immediately was
1. dont copy/steal artwork
and
2. dont misuse tags
But since joining Ive seen a bunch of spam and tag abuse, which kinda fucks the whole platform in a way :/
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, these are certainly two pretty substantial rules.
Don't post junk is one of them as well, to bad so many people don't follow rules.
Blessings
Yea this is still a big problem and I like the fact that you put time and effort in addressing this. It's just stupid to consciously use wrong tags just to get more reach. It's even more sad that it actually works... I don't get why people keep upvoting these abusers.
Thank you for the support on this.
You have a high enough reputation that you can have a talk with a few of them if you like and they will begin to get the message.
I run a bot that starts to spank once they go over a certain threshold, but it generally starts with a pretty solid but "nice" warning.

bycoleman,
Personally, I think there needs to be a steemit tag for new people to go to. I think that is what these posters are trying to accomplish.
Some tag ideas:
steemitnewb
4steemitnewbies
newusers
newmembers
communityoutreach
nowthatyouveintroducedyourself (actually just jesting - too long) :)
I am not for calling out posters myself, as we are decentralized and should be mature enough to self-police ourselves. I haven't down voted, but isn't that what that is for? I don't even know how to down vote, but I still wouldn't. I would just not follow, or mention it in a reply, encouraging them to use some other tag that is for that type of post? FWIW
Thanks for the laugh "nowthatyouveintroducedyourself"
Letting them know you really do not feel their tag selection is relevant can really be effective. If you have a higher reputation than them, you should downvote chronic or truly abusive practices. This is what the flag is for (top right hand corner of each post and comment.)
Usually, I'll understand if it's a newbie that's tag-spamming cus I'll think probably they don't understand how to use tags but what I don't understand is why someone with high reputation will tag-spam... Sounds somehow
its mean old members have not allow to use introduceyourself tag,, and there is really very naughty members finded too hahha

We hope to hear your opinion on TechChats content! We always love to hear from our community.
Happy Steeming 🚀
Please fix your bot. Don't create this message for anyone that has "introduced themselves" more than once.
