Naughty Tagger's List 3/25/18 - 3/31/2018 -- Introdceyourself Tag spammers identified.
The list below identifies the authors who have "Introduced" themselves or products at least 15 times since the start of 2018 AND have posted again in this tag last week. Only 8 authors remain on the list.
The information was obtained programmatically via SteemSQL;
It is possible that some of these authors have legitimate reasons for using the introduceyourself tag repeatedly, it is up to the community to decide that. Note: @markup was removed from this list.
This article (post) is also being tagged with the introduceyourself category. I believe it does belong under this tag, but let me know if you prefer not to have it posted there. I will certainly listen to the community on this subject.
The list below includes articles only (no comments) and only includes authors who have new posts last week in the introduceyourself tag.
Tag spam can really make it hard to find articles you are truly interested in when authors intentionally post their content using tags that really do not apply to their article's content.
If you find this tag spam to be unacceptable behavior, then let the author know. A quick comment with your honest view point may be sufficient to make a real change. Letting them know they are on "The Naughty Taggers List" may be plenty useful.
I will be updating this list on a weekly basis.
It is possible the authors below have already made changes to their tags and habits and their newer posts may be more properly categorized, but the count is accurate one way or the other as to the number of articles in the "Introduceyourself" category as of the time the list was generated.

To help fight tag spam in the Introduceyourself tag, I have launched a tool called @IntroBot.
@introbot is an automated bot hosted and managed by @bycoleman to welcome new users, provide helpful links and information and most importantly to help insure they become a success and asset to the platform.
@introbot works in conjunction with other tools to help fight tag spamming and abuses, particularly associated with the introduceyourself tag. Click here to view the latest comments made by introbot.
The success of introbot continues to be dramatic.
This week there are only 8 total authors left on the list and the criteria for being on this list has dropped from 20 introductions down to 15! This is compared to several hundred total tag abusers before introbot went to work!
If you would like to support Introbot, simply upvote any of the warnings or comments it has made or create your own reply directly to author and let them know how you feel.
Feedback is requested, good or bad. I'm working towards a great platform, but your concept of great might be different than mine, so I am very interested in your concept. Also, let me know if you would like to see more of these types of list.
Excellent work, many thanks.
Thanks for your work! I was messaged & welcomed by your bot yesterday! Since you asked for feedback to improve your work, I wanted you to know that the bot posted the welcome multiple times in a row. Not sure if it does it on everyones or if its a glitch or if it is improperly counting since its posting multiple times, but wanted to let you know. Thanks again!
Interesting!
Steemit had access problems over the weekend that shut down the bot for many hours. Apparently it did not take up where it left off.
I will investigate this and yes, thank you very much for the feedback.
Blessings
Thank you!
FUR'd.
Thank you brother for the support!
I'm working on a few more reports, hopefully out soon.
One of them has to do with the powerdowns that are occurring by whales.
Stay tuned.
Huh, this is interesting, power downs? I'm off to check what you might have dug up!
Let me know.
At first I thought that 8 tag abusers was a really low number. But then I noticed that this could be because only people are included that did use the tag last week. I wonder how long the list is if you skip that last criteria?
It would be huge, but then it is really no longer relevant since the problem is being addressed by the bot, so only new occurrences are seen as interesting.
Most authors now respect the community consensus on this tag and seem to stop using the tag once the bot gives them the first notice. I believe it is a real win and I'll be putting some energy into the next battle.
Yeah, I was just wondering what else did you code? Or is this your only bot?
And in what language did you code this bot?
I have a few more bots in the works.
Using @steemj -- Very nice work by these folks, makes life a lot easier to be able to code in Java.
Blessings!
Thats rough. I was flagged only once because i didnt read the rules well enough and posted twice. Since it was a mistake on my part the one warning was more than enough to teach me to be more careful. I say all this because it can't be a misunderstanding after the 12th incident, they help noobies like me for that reason.
Thanks for you comments and support.
I wish you much success!
Thank you for the help
I like the work you are doing and would like to help out. If there were a few people commenting on the spam posts that would help others find them and know that they are spam.
In addition, being able to welcome all of the legitimate new people and alert them to some of the 'rules' here is a great practice.
Thanks Spencer for the continued support.
I have a bot in the works that will be identifying comment spammers, that will need the community support to be effective, there are A LOT of them and we all are really going to have to address them aggressively.
Yes, I agree with you. I also think it would be helpful if other "whales" deployed a bot like yours. That way, they would be constantly identifying the spammers and hammering their posts.
In addition, welcoming people and providing them with good information so they can learn more about how to properly use Steemit is essential.
Nice post
all are legend of steemit and ruler as well! Each one of those
are helping much the group!
nice write up
Really great stuff and in my opinion your work reflects the hard work behind it to prevent the tag spam by the newbies. Keep up the great work and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
Thank you for the support and kind words.
Blessings to you as well.
Welcome and thank you so much. 🙂
