Gather Your Tribe

As a "creative capitalist," part of me thinks this idea of giving away all my ideas is, itself, a dumb idea. These posts with big ideas will just get lost in the digital slushpile.

While the other part of me, the idealist, hopes it's a way to connect with other idea people. A way to create a community of thinkers, inventors, dreamers, writers, and creatives in general, where we take ideas and brainstorm. Each idea has it's own thread, and people build on the idea, and offer variations on that idea, and allow the idea to grow through trial and error, to it's best possible form.

I'm sharing my raw ideas because I want people to take them. I want these ideas to grow, and become their own thing.

Creators

Eventually, I would love to create a decentralized "think tank" of sorts.

For example, let's say I post an idea for a story, and then a tribe of writers and brainstormers workshops that story idea. They tease out all the possibilities, all the ways the plot could go, all the conflicts, until they create the best possible story out of that original idea. The group of writers then decides who should write the story/novel/screenplay. As the writer makes progress, he gives it back to the tribe to workshop. Each writer in the group has a writing project like this, and they all help make their stories the best possible stories.

Why? Because I'm tired of watching lazy movies where any person with one full brain can say, "That plot line doesn't make sense because dumb."

Or if I post an idea for an invention, a group of inventors and engineers can workshop the idea, teasing out its potential in all the little details. That's the advantage of many minds over one mind.

But there are also advantages of one mind working on a single project, so once the brainstorming phase is complete, then the community could designate a single inventor to build it.

Then, once a prototype is produced, the community workshops it, and it's back to the drawing board.

This creative community engages a "trial and error" manner of creating rather than "The God Complex."

I have a few ideas on how to monetize this decentralized think tank in a way that hasn't been done before, but first things first:

Gather your tribe.
