One year on Steemit!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

This time last year I joined Steemit full of vim and vigour ready for the exciting new adventure.
Sadly, I started to lose interest and lost the motivation after the segwit.
The original intention, or so I thought, was to develop a new arena for blogging with the benefit of our crypto currency.
That seemed to be the case at first, but after the segwit things started to change.
Less and less individual posts about life the universe and everything and more crypto this and follow me that.
The whole site seemed to become dedicated to marketing the concept and pushing for votes.
Those votes, as many of you old in the tooth posters know, became less and less valuable without joining some super guru group that would deign to throw you a fish.
Work and moving house have kept me too busy to stay involved as much as I once was, but what is there to post?
My new "follow me group and I'll send you some krill?"
"How I bought my new Lamborghini just with bitcoin and posting on here?"

Nah, I now wander through looking for stuff about real people having real opinions on here and give them the 2 cents I have in the hope they will move up.
After that, I just sit and hope there will be a new segwit that recognises the ordinary blogger on here and rewards them accordingly like in the past.
Peace out all and let's see what another year brings.

Pretty awesome to see you still using the platform after a year! I started in December of last year. Steadily growing a following and creating good content. This is definitely a long term money making opportunity. Im just reaching out to everyone I can and dont expect any good money in return until I am well over 1,000 followers. Thanks for sticking with it! Following you!

Thanks for the support!
I still feel that this will fly one day and you are in on it early so good luck!
