Experiment: Would Steemit Be A Better Place If Everyone Voted Up All Of Their Real Comments?

I've always wondered what would happen if authors actually voted up all their "real" comments they got on posts. And I mean attempt to do this with money and not just a like. Even if it is just a penny.

Would it gain the author more followers? Would it encourage those who are just learning Steemit and trying to find their voice?

I find myself looking forward to reading posts where I know the authors vote for their comments. What I'm wondering is would this calm some of the "fairness" arguments on the platform?

What would happen if whales just took 1 of their votes per day and divided it into 100 1% votes and voted randomly or just voted up their comments? Would this be good for the ecosystem and members who are trying to figure out if Steemit is worth their time?

I will be voting up all the real comments on this post, that's for sure.

I think that would be good practice espacially for minnows to give them a chance to grow and participate. Blogging can be very frustrating for a newbie and so they can be a part of this game

You're right @sexyfox . It can be frustrating. I'm really happy about apps like @steepshot popping up to make things easier. Steepshot is just like instagram. I'm also a big fan of @qurator to get some easy votes and money. It all helps make the experience more fun.

I think that would be great if whales did that along with everyone. I know I upvote people if I leave a comment.

I really think that is the key to success for this platform.

I think people should upvote comments all the time, the problem is some people post so many times they only upvote and reply to the first ones.

I always give a little something!

I think it makes things more fun, keeps people engaged and helps them want to promote the platform to their friends. To me it is something that will make steemit more sustainable. I also think that if new users see the pennies piling up in their account they will be more apt to invest so they can make more. That is the win win scenario we need.

I completely agree with you on that one!

I would like to upvote comments more - the valuable ones, but I always end up depleting my voting power!

But if I have alot of SP I would vote all valuable comments with 1% - there are people out there who do this - it seems like a way of saying thanks for dropping by and commenting something useful

You will get there @conradt . Once you have 500 sp you can split your votes into any percentage you want. You can theoretically divide 1 vote into 100 1% votes if you choose. So if you're vote value is $100 you can create 100 $1 votes to give people while keeping the 9 valuable votes for yourself. That is at least more unselfish than voting for yourself 10 times lol.

500 SP seems so far in the distance..... I cant wait for that cos then yeah I will be able to upvote all the comments that are good.

I feel a bit stink at the moment that all these people leave awesome comments and I just dont have the SP to upvote that many of them

Just engage with them for now. They will check your wallet and understand where you are at the moment. That is one of the benefits of investing in steem when you have the chance because unfortunately the more sp you have the more power you have on the platform.

Thanks yeah I engege with my followers alot they are awesome!

I know I wish I had the money to buy some SP, guess I have to earn it the slow way...

Let's see if it works. I have thought the same thing myself. You don't have a lot of sp to make it awesome for your followers but imagine if what you said about whales works. Imagine 100 commenters getting $1 per comment. It would keep people on the platform all day long lol
