Five Steps to Write a Better Post on Steemit

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

To write a good article, you need two things: good content and good technique!

Everyone has something interesting to say, so good content is more common than you'd think; but sometimes it lacks technique and doesn't get noticed.
Here's a few simple steps to help you improve your writing:

1. Write what you love

When I first joined Steemit I use to write about whatever topic was popular at the time. It didn't even matter if I knew much about it. I learned pretty quickly that unless you care about what you write, your readers won't either!

2. Read, read, read

To generate content ideas, you need to read as much as you can. Have a look at what the competition's writing and get inspired, but remember to stay original and put a bit of yourself into your article; no one else can do that!

So you've got the content, now how do you make it appealing?

3. Make sure it looks inviting

When you see a lot of really long paragraphs on a page, it already seems like a challenge; most people will give up before they start reading.
Break up your writing into short sections that will draw your reader from one sentence to the next. Use the right photos and place them where you think the text needs a break.

4. Keep it short and simple

Don't try to impress your reader by using unnecessarily complicated words; you might end up confusing them instead. Use simple words and no more than what you need to express your point. Scrap any unnecessary words delete the sentences a reader might skip.

5. Make it better

Read your article out loud a few times before posting to see if you can make any improvements. Also make sure there are no mistakes or typos.

Now that your write-up looks good and has great info, go ahead and hit that post button with confidence!

Thank you for reading and I hope you found this post useful.

Until next time, Steem on!

I like the idea of "Keep it short and simple" . Who wants to read posts like reading forever right? Maybe bookworms will do.

You always , say stuffs off my mind like you are a mind reader.

Very useful mate! Will take it into account on my next posts! Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for keeping it short and simple.. I believe you when you said "write what you love". It really true. One tends to express his/her opinion better on what he/she has passion for. And most especially it must be inviting.
I will take to these key steps. Thanks for the enlightenment.
