Best of Steemit Every Day

Best of the Best Logo

Every day, I bring you eight posts you should think hard about upvoting and supporting. These are quality posts, well written and good examples of the best the community has to offer. Please consider checking them out, and if you agree, love them up.

Competitions, an inspiring story of self-sacrifice, and one of my favorite posts ever, where my friend from Portugal gets an air conditioner, so she doesn’t have to overheat in her apartment--all paid for by Steemit earnings. Seriously. If you’re not inspired by that, I don’t understand you. Steemit is a great place, people, as you can see below. Follow along, upvote, push these people toward the good things in life. It will do good things for you, too.

Today's Best

Writing (Fiction): TTWC Engineer by @talltim. Clever little story here, from a good writer who knows how to let the story do the work.

Writing (Nonfiction): They Came For The Jews And I Did Nothing... by @straitmedia. Honest truth: I hated this post. Nothing, but nothing scares me as much as this. And yet, it’s happening, all over the place. Sobering. I hope there’s a follow-on about this case, and about what we parents can do to protect ourselves against this.

Writing (Craft): Creative Competition All are Welcome by @sammosk. Always good for craft to practice, and this is a great chance to do that. It’s a good contest by a good guy.

Steemit community: Five Biggest Mistakes You Can Make On Steemit by @walkingkeys. Well-written and engaging post on things we probably don’t want to think about--how we can screw this thing up for ourselves.

Introduceyourself: Allow Me To Introduce Myself by @karpone. Great intro post, from a Steemian I bet we’re going to hear a lot more from.

My Feed: Acts Of Kindness Challenge: A Human Story by @acwood. Some people restore my faith in humanity. This story is about one of them.

Photography: Trees of Canada: Staghorn Sumac by @seedvault. Not just good photography, but a great silviculture lesson as well. Highly recommended

Special Prize: Houston, We Have Liftoff--or An Air Conditioner by @smuggly-sparrow. The first time I saw this lady, she was sweating her guts out in a 90+ degree apartment in Portugal. Well, now her apartment is as cool as she is, and Steemit is part of the reason why. That’s no small thing in a dark world.

As always, suggestions for posts to honor are gratefully accepted.

Rules of the Best Of:

I don't like grammar and spelling errors. I make them, but I hate them. Unless the post is supremely brilliant, even a couple of these--especially in the title--will mean it doesn't make this list. NOTE: if you're writing in your second language, significant slack will be given here. When I write in my second language, I'm lucky if I can be understood at all.

Minnows--I am a minnow, and I'm all in on support for the newbies. Doesn't mean I won't curate a whale post, but it's unlikely. If your rating is over 70, you don't need my help (for whatever it's worth).

I don't do porn, however artful.

Original content only.

I take requests. Gratefully. But not for your own work. Push someone else into the spotlight.

Thanks @cristof!
I appreciate the mention!
...upvoted followed and resteemed, my friend!

Thanks for taking the time to do this! Will check out all your recommended posts. If you are doing this everyday, wow, hats off to you @cristof. :)

Every day but Sunday for seven weeks now. It's kind of a habit.

Thanks for the mention @cristof! I was so happy to write that post! Thank you, too, for keeping up with me. That's one of the things that keeps me coming back, so much more than the money, people that say hello and share in your story. :) So thanks a million times! :)

Keep on keepin' on, lady. I'll be watching for more.

Now you've gone and done it, you've said I write.

hyperventilates

I'll never be rid of those consonants and vowels now, buzzing about like fruit flies on day-old donuts.

You're too kind. Thanks for the mention.

Your metaphors are all the reward I need.
