My Attempt To Reach @surpassinggoogle - (I want to help your mission)
I made a post on my blog in an attempt to contact you and I am also going to put it in your comment section in hopes that one of the two ways reaches you @surpassinggoogle.
I have heard of the many things you've been doing Terry and I really applaud your efforts. I don't know if you will ever have time to read this (given all the other comments you receive), but if you do I want to tell you that you have an ally out there that is only 22 days old on this awesome platform.
I may be new to steemit but I am not new to life and I have run several $100 million organizations (in the financial industry) and I know first-hand the potential you speak of. I stumbled onto steemit by accident a few weeks ago and I'm blown away at the opportunities ahead.
I also founded a 501c3 organization called Unleash Power For The People Foundation. We only were able to complete one small project (longer story of why and what issues I faced), but that project was providing a solar power installation at a school in Benquet, Philippines. I'll never forget the unpaved road that took me up the mountain in the back of a jeepney to the place where the locals had no electricity. It is an impression that will never fade in my mind.

I am writing this to you in hopes that you see it and we can start up a dialogue about how I can help you as a teammate to help the poor people of this world. I have seen and acheived a lot in my life, but I have learned that in the end helping people is my greatest joy.
I started my campaign in 2008 and the first website I first started was "areyoureadytochangetheworld.com" and then I started "Unleash Power For The People". I tell you these 2 things for one purpose, to give you an idea of what I have in my mind and in my heart as well.
I think steemit could truly achieve results of what I wanted to do at the time (help people to find their way out of poverty and to have a life that is rich with opportunities)... I see how you are thinking about steemit from this post alone, and I have also heard how you are focused on bringing it to the poorer countries in the world. That has earned you more respect in my eyes than any reputation score you may carry. You are a tremendous person that is perfectly placed in a platform to that may change humanity.
I would be honored to discuss how I can work with you on your mission. I will also continue to use steemit to get the message out about your projects. You (and steemit) have re-motivated me to think again of my old tagline... Are you ready to change the world?

What you provided to that small school in Benguet even when you consider it as small project is a HUGE help to them. These are the people that feels they have been forgotten by the government. God bless your heart. I hope @surpassinggoogle gets to read your proposal. And continue to make the lives of the people from poor areas better. I'm just a regular guy but if there's any help you think I can contribute, you may let me know.
I am just a regular guy too @beatenegg and of course I think you can contribute. When we each do what we are able to do with good intentions in our hearts, then we have much power together. I will certainly stay in touch with you and I hope you do the same with me.
And ps thank you for your kinds words about what I did for them, but I was humbled by the gratitude that they shared with me. The whole process opened up my eyes forever and I will never forget it.

This is a good mission and you are such a kind person to help poor people in my country Philippines . Helping people is one of the greatest joy and I agree with you . I felt very happy when I give foods to poor people and I would like to participate to your mission in the near future . :) Hope @surpassinggoogle will hear you out . I think I would like that and it would be cool. Hopefully one day we can make that happen, and with steemit continuing to grow there it could be a pretty big party indeed :)

That's nice to say @sweetcha, but Terry is the one that is the one making it happen. I am simply willing to help him in his mission. The two things I remember every day when I wake up is to be honest and be humble. I am fortunate to have opportunities and I realize that. I hope to help others to help themselves too. You can't help anyone if you can't help yourself first. So I'm glad to see you here and being simple is a good thing in my opinion. I prefer people that just want to be happy and have good friends and family.
And I doubt he will see this because I am very small in this system and he has probably 1000 of messages every day. Its ok though, I will continue to do my best and work with you and any one who share the same goals, and eventually all of us can help him even if he doesn't know it. We are on the same team @sweetcha... and I'm happy to be your teammate :)

So I thought I'd reach out and see if I could catch up to him. I figured he'd probably never see the message as I see how many comments he has, but I thought I'd give it a try and see... :) I will read what he's up to and I appreciate you giving me guidance on how to work into what is going on and how I can fit. Exactly what we talked about my friend!

Sir @surpassinggoogle , I would like to give a testimony of @davemccoy . He is also new here but unlike most of us newbies, he decided to help us all (while most of us think of ourselves first as a poor minnow). His content were mostly lessons for us newbies. He has researched and shared his experiences here. He also tirelessly reaches out to each of us who join the discussions in his posts. I have found a support in the "newbie community" that he has created in such a small amount of time. I believe that the 2 of you can mobilize a great change! :)
PS. I am also in Manila, hoping for a Manila Steemian gathering :) I saw a year end event but I wasn't in Steemit that time yet.

No "one" person can change the world, but collectively we can all do our best and play our part. Once enough of us get together, then the possibilities become real.

Nice you to know your name Chris :) ... And I will go check out the community site and I hope you remember to let me know if you have things going on. I try to read my replies every day but sometimes I miss a few, so come post on my latest post and I can usually spot it. I tell you this because I do want to help you and I think there are many things we can do together.
For instance, I just had a conversation this morning about an initiative to help the newer members get some more views on their posts so they don't lose hope and get discouraged. You would be someone that I would think would like to be a "founding member" of this initiative and give input and work with us.
I also want to find ways to connect each other and develop the concepts of "best practices"... Like your community is doing what you are doing, and there are so many more communities to reach. If we had a "model" of what works to show people then it helps to make it easier for the next guy.
So yes I accept your proposal and I look forward very much to our relationship developing!

there are many out there @nexilly... The challenge is to organize and work together. That's where I see steemit as a big tool that can bring us together of all countries, races, and religions. It encourages good people to unite.

It's a term for chronically ill people (most commonly those that can't be seen such as fibromyalgia, lupus, myasthenia gravis, etc). It's derived from The Spoon Theory written by Christine Miserandino.
I didn't know, my comment now seems insensitive. I obviously didn't mean to do that. I never have hear that term before, but I'm glad you brought it to my attention my ex-wife has fibromyalgia.
And yes I think it is possible because of the way in which it engages people. If you think about how they designed the rules, the benefits accrue by being nice and helping others. Now there are certainly a few extremely talented people, the masses still need to feel welcome. I like how people are encouraged no matter who they are by how the rewards are divvied up... Let stay in touch and if you have any ideas of how we can work together, let me know... I'm a listener!

Yeah, this platform has a lot of potential to change the world for the better. Once the kinks are seen to (including the learning curve), it's bound to go mainstream. People can do things in so many ways and figuring out how to channel our collective talents, skills, and desire is the biggest challenge.
