Steemit - Quality Content

So how many of you clicked on this because of the photo?

This seems to be the problem with Steemit., and maybe some of you can explain it. This is a platform where "quality content" is supposed to reign supreme, where it is supposed to be valued and paid for. Where is the reward for quality content?

After a few weeks here I have contributed many important, complicated and intelligent articles regarding the economy, investing and Macro-Economic theory, and I routinely see other users who post selfies of old modeling photos get upvoted and therefore compensated much more frequently for nothing short of JR high school style content.

I've delved deeper into this phenomenon and realize that this platform is becoming a standard social media circus full of content that ranges from childish to self involved, and barely anything of quality being upvoted.

he's saying: "nice, where are they?"
lol not what you were hoping for i'm sure.

Looks like I found you a little too late @dividends, it looks like you've given up on Steemit. I also write about similar content, I think we would have been friends.

I'm not super bothered by the likes or financial output, I enjoy writing about this topic and spreading financial education. In my view even reaching 4 or 5 people is a win, so I've committed to writing for a year.

As a bonus, my writing skills are getting much better!
Hope to see you back!
