I'm Starting A 30 Days Writing Challenge. Interested?

in #steemit7 years ago

When I joined Steemit, 9 months ago, I was a bit reluctant, to be honest. It looked too good to be true, so I really wanted to try it out and to get to the bottom of it, before jumping to conclusions. So I decided the best way to understand its ins and outs was a 30 days writing challenge, in which I commited to write one article per day. Now it's fun to look back and see all the steps I took and how this journey unfolded.

As I see many new writers joining Steemit, under much better conditions than I experienced, I thought it would be nice to start a new 30 days challenge to support them. And, truth to be told, also for having a consistent material to analyze the medium and long term impact of Hardfork 19. Now that the rewards are spread over a 7 days window, the changes are a bit more inertial, there is significantly more time needed until a change in the model gets fully implemented.

Rules of this 30 days challenge

  • publish at least one post per day
  • tag it #challenge30days
  • posts under 300 words (approximately) won't be considered
  • topics must be consistent, but you're allowed to write about whatever you want, eventually
  • I will upsteem at least 3 articles per day, at full power (that's 30% of my daily upsteem power), which, at the moment of writing, it's $6. Please understand that I will choose the posts as I see fit, but the general rule is: write in an interesting way, about interesting stuff. Humor and story-telling are a big plus.
  • challenge will start tomorrow, June 21st
  • no gambling, politics, violence and porn (nsfw) articles will be considered

Goals of this challenge:

  • to enforce the habit of writing good stuff every day
  • to ignite new relationships
  • to discover new interesting people
  • and, obviously, to consistently enjoy the rewards of a revolutionary social media platform

Looking forward to see your posts!

I don't understand what this means:

topics must be consistent, but you're allowed to write about whatever you want, eventually

Can you clarify that?

Yes, I am waiting to post until this is clarified.

I'm down. I'm going to do a 30-day series entitled, "Becoming a CryptoConsultant." about me building RJCrypto.com. Look out for my first blog, I'll leave the link under this comment here.

nice challenge. I think I'll try, even if English is not my best language ;)

I think I will be participating as well, I'm home for the summer, and therefore have a lot of free time.

I would really love to join. If it's not too late. May I start today and go a few days longer?

It's ok to start now, no worries :)

I was invited today from @sumsum to take part in the german version of this challenge.. thanks by the way :)
I would like also taking part in the original version .. Hopefully this is still possible..
To catch up, I just should post on some days maybe twice..
I feel like I have now some homeworks to do like in school, thats fun :D

Lots of clever ideas like this one since the hard fork with a bunch of excitement about the new rewards system. I have always been more comfortable commenting rather then blogging as my grammar lets me down. Voted for you and good luck but cannot see you in the top 50 how to see your current rank?

Commenting has been a real win for me recently. I'm seeing much more action there than in posting. Keep going, Steem is a cumulative reward!

Thanks, keeping to my safe area :)

Thanks for the vote, appreciated, here's a link for detailed list of all witnesses: https://steemd.com/witnesses

Thanks hope this wasn't obvious as i could only see the top 50 before.

Well yes I am in, it will be difficult to find the time but I hope the challenge will help me express better.

Might have a go my writing is not the best though but practice does make perfect. Cheers mike

I'm in :D I will write about - mindfulness: 30 days meditation streak
Hopefully this will improve my english skills as well as my writing skills (and maybe even my mental state)...

will leave a link to my first blog under this comment :)

I'd love another go at this, did it earlier in year and didn't manage very many days. It is ok to post from today?

Yeap, go for it!
