War against bots or better fix the system
I don't like war and I like the idea of working with technology towards a better reality. If we are talking (and living) in terms of openness, liberty, diversity, acceptance, we have to learn to live with bots.
Bots can be good too. And they can help us automate many of our tasks.
I think we should re-think how the point system works, and how we work with bots and not against them.
And this is not by fighting bots, but by making really good content go upwards and crap content go down. Who cares if you are a bot or a human?
What we want is to have a good curating system? we want good content?
Let's have priorities straight. Some are here for the money and want to hack the system. Some are here because we believe in decentralization, in that we can create great content, share and curate, creating an ecosystem.
If we don't focus on curating the system fails. We should focus on using bots towards helping us curate.
If we fight bots we loose. We should embrace bots. Learn to live in peace.
Whenever we monetize something we open it up to greed. The problem, as I see it, is that there is an arbitrary line that usually gets drawn on what constitutes 'good' and 'bad' behavior in these systems. Curation is great, but we run into similar problems as we have today with the narrative being controlled by the few. Blockchain to the rescue :)
That's like saying we can't get rid of "crime" so we should embrace it.
I don't agree. It is like saying we shouldn't fight the machines in the industrial revolution cause they are going to take our jobs. We have to adapt.
Not really the same though. The whole point of Steemit is that people vote for content. Bots doing it goes against the spirit of the whole thing. A bot can't decide what is good or bad.
I think that we should stop thinking that people are the only inhabitants of the universe. That is why we have wars. I hate wars. If anyone thinks they are better than someone else then we have conflict and hate. We can keep arguing forever. I understand your point. The question is if steemit is just for humans. I say any blockchain projects should be open and that includes, bots, AIs and dogs. You would say just humans.
