Understanding the Steemit revolution

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Censorship
Can I say whatever I like here?
Really? Really really? What about things that are legal in one country but illegal in another
Example: Can I insult the king of Thailand?

Copywrite
The TOS are not clear.
"Steemit Content is protected by intellectual property laws, including copyright and other proprietary rights of the United States and foreign countries".
If this blockchain is based all over the world. why does the US get to decide copywrite? Who decides what is copywrited and for how long?
Example: Can I type the number 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0?

Anonymity
I am writing under a pseudonym but steemit know my email and phone number.
What is to stop me giving out someone else's identity?
There is a crypto currency underlying all this. It is possible that by owning an account here will expose a wallet address on another chain.

Truthfulness
Lying is great, especially for comedic effect. However :-
"10.7. Accuracy of Information. You represent and warrant that any information you provide via the Services is accurate and complete."
Surely there is some give here? It's so easy to be innacurratte and incompl..

Steemit overlords
I have been awarded crypto tokens, just for signing up! Yay.
What happens if I start posting bad things about our most beautiful and generous benefactors?
Example: Ok, lets look at the steemit business model, you can see income sources of [... carrier signal lost]
