Authorship & Curation, Better content = Better Steemit

Opportunity:

The revolutionary opportunity which Steemit on the Block Chain offers, is more than just a place to post for compensation, rewards for value perceived, number of votes, voting power, or an icon that lets the world know that a big fish is swimming around.

For the first time, in the history of mankind, a certain kind of “Level Playing Field” has become available, whereupon, anyone, might be recognized, and in various ways, for their contributions to the greater good.

However, there might be a much greater reward than crypto, and voting power that we as a community are missing...this missing view might very well determine Steemit’s longevity, and the ultimate outcome of how content is used, and stored on the Block Chain.

While anyone who can type, has a chance to express, and share value, and said value can be equated in numberless ways, without attempting to bottle, or package what constitutes true value, perhaps as a relatively new community of contributors, some formulation of basic structure of value would behoove the Sojourner's, that dot the landscape which is developing beneath our digital feet…one upon which we, and future generations will have to sustain our existence.

Short Term Outlook

As one looks around at content popping up, a lot of great information, and original authorship is coming into view. This allows for uncensored solutions to challenges, and issues, which have heretofore been purchased, and shelved by large corporations. Mankind is at the brink of massive innovation, unfettered, and unchained by monopolies, economies, or regulatory confinements. Every area of personal, and professional information, and technological dissemination is now able to freely publish, and lift humanity to higher meems of existence, while at the same time, maintain control over the concepts to which their content is beholden.

With this opportunity, falls a greater responsibility upon those who publish content. Each post is a “Piece of Paper” laid upon the digital landscape that know becomes permanent pavement over which all must travel.

Although the road is taking shape, and leads us toward a promising tomorrow, “Litter” is starting to blow about, which will be very difficult, if not impossible, to clean up, now, or in the future.

The “Litter” referred to, is the proverbial “wrapper” on the side of the road. Such as it is, tells us that someone was there, and that something, at sometime was digested, or used for momentary benefit, and then was discarded. While the “wrapper” has an intrinsic value, which is minimal, and includes the logo, and ink, representing the product that it once contained, there is really nothing left of benefit, or value to those who find it. It being left behind, after the consumer has taken the last bite, becomes a nuisance, and an eyesore for the rest of humanity to deal with...FOREVER. There are no such things as biodegradable posts on the Block Chain.

These “wrappers” include “paper posts” in the form of undernourished, spent, and exhausted curation, i.e.:
“Cool man! Loved your article”
“I voted for you, do the same for me”
“Upvote me, I did for you”

Because this landscape is digital, doesn’t mean that it won’t, or can’t get cluttered. Simply try to read through the content on any tag or topic. Content is becoming more difficult to filter, time, and effort are fast becoming an increased cost to curation, and the search for value.

What kind of place will we be living in digitally, if we do not grasp the opportunity, and the virgin landscape that still might exist, if we are careful, cautious, and prudent?

Mid Term Outlook

“Block Chaining” content, might still be considered to be in the stages of its infancy. Imagine the marvelous innovation, inventions, medical developments, technological advancements, applications to multiple aspects of the human experience, instructions on free forms of energy, automation, cures for disease that can no longer be regulated by big pharma, or suppressed by the FDA, sanitation, and other three letter agencies. Think of what the landscape could look like, with smart contracts, that ensure allodial title to property, free from regulation, and excessive taxation. Imagine, private contracts and transactions that would allow anyone to buy what they need to sustain a healthy lifestyle, assist their neighbor, and remain anonymous.

Somehow, we need to grasp hold of a much larger picture, and allow the time for development, and expression of form to take place without cluttering up the world we want to live in. Everyone, knows how cluttered the internet has become, do we really want the Steemit blockchain to end up with the same challenges, and all for a few measly votes and a little cash?

The Steemit platform has the potential of lifting the world out of the clutter into a paradise of value, where problems can be solved, and challenging issues disappear, because solutions can be easily retrieved and applied, in practical ways to real life circumstances.

Long Term Outlook

What if we all took a fresh look at what Steemit is, and consider the following when we make a post, with the objective of leaving more value to return to, than the value we hope to consume today.

Before posting content perhaps we consider:

Are my ideas clear, and concise?
Who is my audience?
What is my specific message?
Does the title of my post, hook the reader’s interest?
Does the content solve an issue?
Does my post move the reader, through inspiration, are they somehow better for having read my post?
Is my post instructional in some way?
Is the content in the post inquisitive, does it foster conversation, and dialogue?
Does my post offer a different perspective on an issue posted?
What are the evidences or resources that back up my post?
What uniqueness exists in the way that I respond, while curating?
What fantastic idea could I share with the world?
What types of specific support and information are offered in my writing?
Is my post based on value or focused on popularity?
Does my post communicate something useful, something that can be applied to life?
Does my post build something, ie relationships, communication, organizations, groups, trust, etc.?
Is my post mine? Did I author this, or did I copy and paste?
Is the value that I express in the form of entertainment? Or should that be left on Youtube?
Does my post somehow enrich the human experience, or make life better?
Is my content interesting?
Is my post about sharing, and promoting value, or am I writing for crypto rewards?

Summary

By focusing on giving, and sharing value, we begin to think in different terms, in new ways, from alternative perspectives, this is where creativity comes into play, where we find hidden potential, and begin to share what is truly meaningful. From this “come from” or “place” we care not how many votes, or followers an article has, because value has been generated, and when that happens, it will be recognized for what it is.
