Is @BerniesAnders good for steemit? Erebus -reviews steemians.

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

No. No he is not. He is exactly like the other whales and spammers he constantly fights with. His bots and alts funnel upvotes and money to his main account, he spams endlessly receiving far too much money for his literal shit posting, he downvotes people for no good reason, and can't take criticism to save his life.

On one of his recent posts I commented "He has a lot of alt/networked accounts, and at least a couple of bots. Then plenty of spammers that come here to spam and try to get rewards." This was in reply to a comment wondering how @berniesanders achieves such success with a reputation of -17. The comment also states that he has followers that love his work. Within the next hour it had 13 downvotes from his multiple accounts. It also had no upvotes, so there wasn't a profit to be killed, he did it just to do it, despite other actual spam, and other comments calling him a spammer were present on the same thread.

In one stand alone (a reply to the original post and not a comment,) I said "And you aren't a piece of shit mate? You have friends, alts, and bots downvoting your enemies, you post spam as much as anyone you downvote, you downvote people you shouldn't, and you "earn" ungodly rewards on shit posts (with many, many uneeded self-votes) which is bad for the platform as a whole. And from what I've seen, you can't take criticism either."
This comment, though directly replying to his post with the same criticisms contained within said post, but also asking a question, was downvoted by the same 13 accounts immediately. I did not receive a reply.

On another of his posts I replied to a comment that went as follows, "In the long run I think steem will be MASSIVE...there are users here with millions of $ worth of steem, they will not abandon this place, some of them might incentivize progress."

My exact response was "Wrong, extremely, undeniably so. Big users kill platforms and currencies. It is the large amounts of small users that provide the variety and activity that strengthen such things." This comment was downvoted by the same 13 accounts.
Now anyone well versed in economics knows that in reality, hoarding wealth slows growth, causes deflation, weakens a currency and whichever entity is based on that currency, whether it be a nation-state, or a blockchain. As for the thought that someone committing reward pool rape by self voting, and making trashy content that makes far above average income could incentivize newcomers who will in turn receive less income, and have slower growth? Well, we all know how trickle down economics work.
This is not intended as a defense for anyone BerniesAnders has gone after, I'm sure he has been in the right once or twice, but as a whole, he is not good for steemit any more than other greedy whales and spammers.
Sort:

You see his newest post? 4 sentences, 310 votes, value of $861.33. Thats bad enough, but it gets worse when you see that the post is talking about #rewardpoolrape

He waits until you have rewards coming to downvote you. He downvotes but never addresses your questions or complaints. Is there a way to get ahold of steemit itself?

Example of Bernies upvoting his own comment, while not upvoting the comment he says he "appreciates."

Very obvious and basic bit of spam there, with selfvoting comments being something many minnows are warned not to do.
