Dtube #1:10 Golden Rules in Steemit

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians, this is Pam and I would like to share some valuable principles that we can apply here in Steemit. I already posted it in one of my blog which is the 10 Apothegms but today I want to elaborate it a bit further. You can also comment your own suggestions that can be useful to all of us.

  1. LOVE. Love what you are doing. You are what you write, love what you are writing.
In everything that we do, we must never forget to include the ingredient of love. It makes all the things easy and bearable. The result will come out smoothly and naturally unlike if we are just being force in doing something. It is like forcing yourself to sing but your true passion is dancing. We will never be happy and satisfy if we don’t follow what our heart truly desires.
2. RESPECT. Respect your co-steemians. They are not your competitors, they are your family.
Always remember that we are a family of all nations with differences in culture and traditions so we must accept every lapse. What we can do that the other person can’t do doesn’t give us the license to belittle them. We are all special and created with unique talents and abilities. Steemit is our home and not a field of competition.
3. READ. Read the work of others. Learn from their vocabularies, learn from their experiences.
As much as we want the others to read our post, we should also read their work. In order to be a good writer, we must first be a good reader. It will also help us learn things such as experiences that are beneficial and applicable in our own life. We can also get tips on how we can improve our blogs to catch someone’s attention.
4. ORIGINAL. Never copy someone’s work. It’s the product of their hard work, create your own product.
A masterpiece is carefully made through sleepless nights and countless brainstorming so plagiarism is like killing somebody. We are not just only copying their words but we are also tearing apart the heart of the author. We must believe in ourselves that we don’t need to imitate because we can create something wonderful yet authentic.
5. GREED. It is poisonous. The more you want something, the more you lose everything.
Posting just for the sake of money will cause us too much stress. Just imagine if every time we get low upvotes, we may become more irritable and short-tempered. We may also tend to lose our social life for being so busy in writing just to accumulate more votes. We may also end up doing horrible things such as the hacking of account which is a clear act of selling our dignity for some coins.
6. Jealous. Be happy for their achievements. If they are paid higher than yours, be inspire by their effort.
It is the mother of evilness. Most of us have the crab mentality. There are people who always want to be on the top but when somebody reached or overpower their position, they are unhappy. Many are fakes in offering a help. Yes, they want us to do good but never better than them. We shouldn’t be like this. If someone is better than us, they must serve as our inspiration and not as our rival.
7. Dedication. Hindrances are all over. When you feel tired, get some rest but never stop.
Success doesn’t come with one knock. It is a continuous cycle of consistency and perseverance. We are just humans so it is normal to feel tired at some point in time. We can always take a rest, unwind and relax. Travel different places, watch our favorite movies and eat all the best foods that we want to taste. After recharging our energy, we must go back in the race and finish it until the end.
8. Mature. You must grow. Enhance your ability and so as your mind.
Always have a room for improvement and never be idle in one place. Accept criticism with no hard feelings. See it as a good opportunity to explore and research anything that can help us build the best version of ourselves. Be an adult not only in words but also in deeds. We must serve as a good role model to the younger generations.
9. Quality. Be remarkable. Do something that will stick in their heart, be a great influencer.
Write as if it is our last day on earth and give a 100% in every second. Do something that is exquisite and extraordinary. Always think outside the box and stay away from our comfort zone. Never be afraid to write anything under the sun. Our imagination is limitless so make the best out of it.
10. Humble. Keep your feet on the ground. Teach the others and lower your pride.
There’s nothing wrong to feel proud of ourselves but we must never forget to stay humble. We are all under the same sky and equal to the eyes of our Lord. We are brothers and sisters in the sense that all of us are God’s children. As we are aiming the top, we should also help those individuals who need uplifting. Share with them the talent and knowledge that we have and keep inspiring them to strive harder.

That’s it, thank you for watching and listening. Please upvote, comment or resteem if you agree in everything that I’ve said. Thank you so much and see you again next time! :)

Thanks so much ma'am :)

This is so incredibly well thought out and composed, @escuetapamela, and it just has such a good spirit and heart.

Absolutely brings wisdom directly to all who read and watch your video, and you did a great job with your English.

Such an ambitious project, so elated to see it come together in such a great post, Pamela, thank you so much for sharing this wisdom with Steem.

This is so sweet, your kindness is superb. :)

Thank you so much for always showing me your support and also helping me when I am confused in English. :D

This is a great post! I agree with everything you said! We are definitely a family here!! I love the people I've met on here.

I like that, "you are what you write" instead of "you are what you eat." I definitely can only write about things I care about. Salamat po

I agree with you, we are indeed a family here :)
You are also right, it is hard to write something which we are not interested.
Thanks for your sweetness. :D
