It's too late for me - my son is 25 and far away. I did not ever use any kind of corporal punishment as he never needed it when he was a kid - but when the teenage years hit - he was quite a handful and much bigger than me so I didn't consider it at that time either.

I'm glad to get this chance to see the proverb's again. But I am not sure I can go along with this one.

Upvoted, resteemed, tweeting for 5 days and put in the Steemit chat promo board. I hope more people will get a chance to see this. It's is always good to have some time of reflection in this busy world.

Discipline does not necessarily have to be physical though. I think this is just using an idiom that was common back then in the Hebrew culture to refer to disciplining children :]
