RE: Why Are So Many Users Hitting Their Bandwidth Limit? Solved It! What You Can Do.
One comment/correction to this: "But this formula delivers a double blow because if the total SP is rising due to excessive self-voting (self-mining)"
The SP does not rise faster due self-voting/mining, but instead due to things like: choosing between 50/50% or 100% power up, or powering up intentionally, which is at anyone's discretion.
But I give you the props due just looking at it and exposing. =)
In my view, another way to resolve this is either adjusting the blockchain coin cap, or/and by increasing the block size (which eventually will have to happen).
You're right, let me edit - I forgot to mention reinvest in SP to yield exponential returns.
Thanks for all the details. Can you explain this reinvestment point a bit more please?
If you read the new Addendum, you will see this is probably less important - probably! However, as the total SP of the system increases so everybody's max bandwidth decreases, so reinvesting rewards in SP will move the bandwidth down, whereas cashing out will move it up.
Don't forget that after HF19 the function is now linear. So yielding more SP does not represent an exponential effect anymore.
Thanks for this post! But I’m kind of confused with my situation. I used steemit a lot before (I even posted a blog) but it’s always on the 80-90% threshold. I wasn’t using steemit a lot today but I recently logged on to the steemit app and now it showed -20% bandwidth. Is this reasonable?
