Powering up all I can and being blessed by others?

in #steemit6 years ago

My goal for August was to get to 5 SP, which seemed kinda daunting due to the sad state of my account. Oh, how I've been blessed since then.

Almost at my goal

As of writing this, I have 4.086 Steem. Skærmbillede 2018-08-15 kl. 08.22.27.png
I've been powering up with all the Steem and SBD I've received but I couldn't have done it without help. @ironshield nominated me to the @minnowfund and I got an instant 15 SP delegation just for being nominated. Then, because I have wonderful friends here on Steemit who backed the nomination, I got the 100 SP delegation for 45 days!

Being blessed?

Did you spot that delegation in the screenshot? Something is not adding up! I should have a 115 SP delegation from @minnowfund. But there's 135.010. At first, I suspected a kind, anonymous angel but a little research revealed that the extra 20 SP came from the @minnowfund as well, since the nominated Steemians didn't live up to their criteria. I'm thankful for the extra boost.

Help me bless others, please

I promised to pay it forward by nominating people in my following for the @minnowfund delegation, but sadly for me, they are changing the way the account works so that won't be an option anymore. If you know of a similar initiative. I would very much like to hear about it.

Setting new goals

As long as I have the delegation from @minnowfund I will be powering up all my earnings. I'm hoping to get to 10 SP before the delegation ends. I could really use the income in my business soon, but I want to grow my account as well. It's a balancing act. My goal is to get to a point where I can get $37 from Steemit every month. That would pay for the business coaching I'm getting, which has proved instrumental in getting on the right track. If you have the smarts to figure out how much I need in SP etc to get to that goal I would really appreciate the guidance.

Hello @frugallady, with STEEM and SBD so low, earning $37/mo is a lofty (but not impossible) challenge. It's probably going to take a while, maybe even a year to reach that level. The 'rules' of Steemit are going to be changing in September with HF20, I'm planning a post to describe what I've been learning about it. Perhaps with some of the changes, you may be able to get a foot-hold to accelerate your growth here. @ironshield

Changing? When and where did you find out about this?

@steemitblog has all the details about Hard Fork 20. Some interesting changes.

Oh really, changes? I have to dive into that.

I'm aware it's a lofty goal. It's not my first baby step but my 'dream' goal right now :) As a baby step I'd like to be able to give $4-5 out every month. I think of it as getting a coffee for my time. Only I won't be getting a coffee as it will all go into my business (and I have that expensive coffee maybe a couple of times a year). When you publish the post, then please link it in the comments on one of mine (doesn't have to be this one, the newest will do no matter the topic).

I read through the hardfork 20 post and I have to admit I don't understand a lot of it. I'd love to know how these changes affect me and others.
Also, I don't self-vote but maybe it's something I should do to grow my account? What's your thoughts on that?

We're so happy to be able to provide you with a little boost. Keep up the great work! I know you'll reach your goals.. and more. :)

I'm very thankful for it and pray you are correct in your predictions.
