in #steemit7 years ago

3 new accounts have been detected that have been hijacked by the perpetrator of the phishing attacks. If you click on any link in a post and are asked for a password DO NOT enter it. Use your posting key only to log into steemit and make sure you are on https://steemit.com note the https and you should ahve a lock symbol in green to the left of it on the url bar. Save your main key for doing transfers. Double and triple check you are on https://steemit.com before entering it.

New phising accounts are about hacking with a titles of:

  • A solution to Hackers? No More Hackers
  • the world will witness the fall of digital currencies
Sort:

Hopefully, more awareness will be created, new securities measures will be put in place, and more hijacked accounts will be spotted and blocked.

This is just a phase and we'll soon overcome it.

Steemit will continue to grow and the bad eggs will not spoil or hinder its growth.

To add to that, please everybody should endeavour to be safe on steemit.
Know the links you click and verify the links properly.
Don't use your master password to login in third party sites - even on steemit too. Instead, use only your posting key.

For third party sites that require active keys, pls use only the active key.

I repeat, don't use your master password to login.

Remember, THERE'S NO PATCH FOR HUMAN STUPIDITY

When I look at the posts on steemit, I feel like the world is inherently good. And then when I see the spam comments, these phishing posts, the phishing through the wallet, and all the scaming on the private messages of the chats.. I remember that the debate on if we are inherently good or inherently bad is valid. Sucks good people have to go through bad people's bs

Thank you very much for raising awareness
I will make a post about it too
Keep it up
