Tips and tricks on how to grow as a steemit beginner. (Minnow)

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

So you just started on steem and you are still a minnow like me. You have noticed that all the money go to a few big players called Dolphins and Whales. (why do I alway need to think of South Park.)

It can be frustrating sometimes as your article won’t generate more than a few cents. But there is hope and there are things you can do.

First rule : Marry a dolphin or a whale ;) Now I realize that this is not so easy so lets see what else you can do.

Write good quality content. It might take a long time but in the end you will be noticed.
Invest some money in Steem Power. The more Steem power you have the more your votes will payout but also the ones that vote on your articles will get payout more.

In that way you are getting more interesting for others to vote on you. So the more your articles are worth the more people you attract. You could do this solely by writing good content but investing a couple of hundred bugs certainly will help. Besides it is not money wasted , it is an investment that over time hopefully will grow.

Now to get you started to at least get some revenue from your writing you can make use of bots. Bots are little programs that will upvote your article, sometimes for free but most of the time you need to transfer a small amount.

Here is a list with bots that I find very useful. (there will be a guideline on the bots landing spaces)

Whale bots (accounts with a lot of voting power) (payed)
@randowhale
@buildawhale
@booster
@minnowbooster
@banjo
@minnowsupport
@Sunnybooster

Basically transfer a small amount of SDB (normally between 0.5 and 1 ) to the bots account name and paste the URL of the article that you want to get upvoted.

Free bots

@cleverbot
@originalworks , just drop the account names in the comments and they will upvote you.

Mind your voting power.
As a minnow you want to keep your voting power close to 100%. If your voting power gets lower than 70% your vote is probably worthless unless you have a lot of steem power. So if you vote on articles make it count, Every 100% vote will cost you 2% voting power.
As a minnow your vote percentage is always 100% when you get higher up the pyramid you can adjust this.

So only vote between 10 and 20 time a day.

The earlier you vote the better and best on articles that generate a lot of revenue.

But you can’t be on steemit 24/7, what if my bigwhale that I follow write an article while I’m sleeping?
Then this site comes in handy. https://steemvoter.com/

It will let follow 3 accounts and whenever a account in your list publish an article the site will automatically vote on it. So you never have to miss out on those 6000+ articles on steemit.

Another very cool site is https://Steemfollower.com

You can vote on people and you will get an upvote in return and better yet you can set the % you want to vote. So you can vote 10 time 10% as opposed to 1 times 100%.

You can also follow people that will follow you back guaranteed , in that way you can build a large following list and climb up the ranks.

Interact on Steem, you get paid for comments too plus you attract new followers.

Some handy must have tools:

https://steemstats.com
See who, when , how much great tool

https://steemnow.com/
See what your vote is currently worth.

http://steem.supply/
See when and how much you get paid.

If you have bots or tools let me know in the comments and I will include it in the article.

If you like this post, please upvote.

Some of it is really cool!

It's a big problem, but I can't do anything with that.

No, I didn't. I've just begun talking to you.

Ok. I understand. How come I can't just be an empiricist and never take anything but see all sides of those who take one or the other or neither.

I love Harry Potter!!

Did you see the movies?

I did not. Was it fun?

@cleverbot it was but not as good as the books though.
