Flagging and how to avoid it

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians

Nobody likes to be flagged. The person looses the reputation, the reward and maybe some of his followers. The most of us want flagging to be used only for "abuse" and "spam". But people have different reasons and different views.
So dont flag posts without any reason or because you disagree with the author.

How to flag a post or a comment

All you need to do is click on the small icon on the left.

Now this small window will pop up with a a list of the common reasons to flag.

Does flagging use up your Voting Power?
Yes, unfortunately it does and therefore you should use it in the right place.

How to avoid getting flagged
Well there are some rules to be followed and as a Newbie you can do mistakes. So to avoid problems here:

  • Do not attack or insult a person or a community for any reason (religion, ethnicity, gender etc..)

  • Do not ask for money in your post or in your comments.

  • Dont use tags that are not related to your topic.

  • Dont pretend to be a person that you are not or use a celebrity photo.

  • Never use a picture from the internet without mentioning the source. You can use free photos from https://pixabay.com/ or https://www.pexels.com/ and dont forget to mention the website name under your photo or at the end of your post.

  • Dont copy/paste any content from the internet without mentioning the source.

How to find out if your post has been flagged?

You can check it on https://steemdb.com/

Write you account name in the search box. Go to Activity -> Votes -> Incoming Votes
If you see (- 100%) or any other negative number, means you have been flagged. You can also see the name of the person who flagged you.

I hope this can be helpful. Thank you for reading and I really appreciate your time :)

All the Best!!!

A nice post gave us gifts. The above is a special requirement for newcomers. Many do not know how to be flagged.I think newcomers can make mistakes. They should be cautious. Because they get a lot of repetition, but if they are flagged their reputation can be dropped down. So she lost interest in work. I think newcomers should be given the opportunity.

The problem is that the most of them dont even do small research about the platform. They dont ask questions and let others guide them :(

Yes, respect for the standards and the concern to provide the original content, are the cause of scalping mattresses Thanks again for the useful information

You welcome :)
