Writer's block, we all get it, the best of us. Why? What causes the dreadful phenomena? It's as if we can't think of a good topic exactly when we need one. Rather, we end up thinking of great ideas during car rides, or work/school times, but we often choose to wait until our current task is complete until we record this amazing idea. Then it's gone. You try so hard to remember it but you just forgot it. It's gone. Let's fix this problem by implementing a few precautions so that next time we have an idea for an article, it stays with us until we are ready to write. The first thing we may want to try is to keep a small journal, or online notebook in order to track our ideas. We should also stop trying to find our ideas, but rather let our subconscious create and develop these ideas. Finally, we will read. That's the start to a cure. A start to the end, the end of writer's block.

Step 1 - Read more to find out

We must stay informed about our surroundings. This is absolutely key. How many articles are you going to write about the same old information in your storage right now? When we write, we share information. One reason you can have writer's block is simply because you feel like you have ran out of information. You can no longer share due to the lack of information left for you to share. Reading the news or doing your research in your niche area of writing can keep you on your toes. It will give you the most up to date info about whatever topic you are writing about therefore allowing you to share that information with the rest of the world. So find a reliable news source for your interests and read one article every day during your lunch.

Step 2 - Letting our Sub-Conscious Create and Develop our Ideas

We often strain our conscious mind with the task of solving difficult problems for us on a daily basis, and we often give our subconscious remedial tasks such as opening a door. Believe it or not, but your sub-conscious mind is a very powerful tool for you to use. Have you ever tried really hard to think of a name or an answer but can't until you wake up and brush your teeth the next day? Maybe your conscious mind gave up in a few minutes or hours, but your sub-conscious mind did not. Your subconscious mind can solve a lot of problems given time. If, after you read your article for the day, and you try to think of a topic for your own article quickly moving onto a new task, your subconscious mind will take over. Then just wait. With time, ideas will come to you, and you must be ready. Read the last step to find out how to prepare.

(Bonus Tip : If you try to solve a hard question on a timed exam and then move on to another easier problem, your subconscious mind will keep trying to solve that hard problem. You may recall a solution you learned in class while you are answering an easy multiple choice question.)

Step 3 - Write Down Your Subconscious Thoughts

As we discussed, you may have an idea or a solution after the initial encounter of the problem. Therefore you must be prepared because time will not wait for you to find some pen and paper. So have one ready just in case. Now, this doesn't imply typing and driving. NO! If this is the case bring this subconscious thought to your conscious pool. Surface the idea and strat thinking about it and only record your thoughts after you reach a safe place. If it is safe to do so, take out your journal or phone and write down a quick reminder. You can use Google Keep or Apple's version of notes. You can even use Evernote or Onenote and create a notebook for each topic if you have multiple series that you are working on. Just get it on paper or digital media and out of your head. Now, you are ready to just recall that paper or digital reminder when you need to sit down to draft an article.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, you must be prepared to write down your ideas as they surge up from your subconscious. You can use online methods such as Evernote or Onenote to keep an organized record of all your series on Steemit. Speaking of subconscious thoughts, you can use it to come up with ideas by providing it time. With time, your subconscious mind can surface an idea worthy of noting. Finally, you must provide your subconscious mind some fuel by reading an article about your topic each day. You can only write if you have content you feel worthy to share. You must have enough knowledge of the topic to achieve good results with your content. Good luck with conquering your next writer's block as have I.
