Steemit Debit Card. - Would It Be Possible & What About Bit Pay?

Lately..

I've been reading about the "struggles" people have withdrawing their STEEM/SBD. - Especially new Steemians. - And I can totally relate with some of them.

Personally, I must say, that I've been struggling too, especially ever since the exchange I used previously stopped paying me $USD for BTC directly to my PayPal account. The transfer was awesome and smooth. Sure, they had some fee's so I paid them a couple of bucks for each transaction.. But it worked out well. - It was easy and reliable.

  • They aren't allowed to do this anymore.. PayPal put an end to their business.

However, that was truly incredible for someone who's looking to cash-out swiftly.

The process was like this:

I sent my STEEM/SBD to bittrex. > I sold my STEEM/SBD for BTC. > I sent my BTC to the exchange site and waited for anything between 5 and 24 hours. - And the money appeared in my PayPal account.

As I'm from Sweden, I can't use coinbase for that purpose. Also, I've had maaaaajor issues to verify my identity on coinbase. Don't ask me why, but I couldn't manage to get it verified. It took me about 3 months to verify it and that was after a bunch of emails to the support. - Not even they could answer the question "why can't I verify my identity?" properly.

Anyhow..

Things are like they are and I'm nothing near a cryptocurrency expert, but I'm learning. With baby steps.

So, just out of the blue, I started to think about an actual STEEMIT CARD. - Could something like that even be possible?

Just imagine if you could transfer your STEEM/SBD to an actual debit card, and sure, if you're from a country that doesn't have USD, you'll have to exchange the funds to your currency first some how.. - But wouldn't that be awesome?

How do YOU transfer your STEEM/SBD?

Are you using coinbase to make withdrawals to your bank account?

Do you know if there's a legit and solid way to transfer BTC to Paypal, like I've done previously?

I know there's literally hundreds of different ways to transfer & use your BTC.. Cards and different exchanges etc.. - But do you know if I can use something like an actual plastic card in Sweden?

I've obviously heard about Bit Pay..

And I think that's the best option I might have.. And I guess it's like one of my other Debit Cards I got from Fiverr. More or less. - But I'm not sure yet.

That being said.. I wish we'd be able to see an actual STEEMIT CARD, from STEEMIT INC, in the near future. Apply for a card, get the card and withdraw money instantly to your very on STEEMIT CARD.. - That would've been truly awesome!

Even if it's unlikely.. It shouldn't be impossible.. Or am I wrong?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this..

And hopefully, we can spread & use this information to help new people.. So they finally realize that it's not "too hard" or "difficult" to join Steemit as a cryptocurrency rookie.

I'm also from Sweden and I have ordered a BitPay card. Everything went good and now I'm just waiting for the card. If it works like a normal credit card that would be awesome, so I hope it does.

I guess you went with "euros" on the bit pay card? - However, it's nice to meet people from Sweden here. I wonder how many swedes there are? Would love to discuss steemit projects with swedes further on. Let me know if you' re interested.

Yup I went with euros. I don't think we have many swedes here, but it was nice to see one :)

I hope it comes soon!

Weird, I hit "POST" and several comments disappeared.
This is a great Idea, a completely logical extension of STEEM.
We'd need to require imprimus a method to short-circuit the ability of heavy hitters like PP and major banks from muscling in and taking a big bite- and the entire PCI is a big, bright red target for black hats.

Yes the Steemit card would certainly be a great idea, and would be easiest to turn Steem in to USD. I would recommend going to Shapeshift, and exchange your Steem for Bitcoin, and then load your Bitcoin on to the Bitpay Card, or one of the other cards like it. I personally use Bitpay, and all the options that they provide for its customers are amazing. They have the Mobile App too for Android and Iphone. I have a YouTube video that I created about the Bitpay card if you'd like to check it out. Best of luck. Followed and upvoted!! Great content on your YouTube Josh, subscribed and following!

Thank you very much, i appreciate the support! I have followed you here and will be sure to upvote! Have a great day!

I would probably if at all possible steer clear of any US based exchange, the law makers are aiming to create problems in the crypto currency/token exchange arena. You could see all your funds locked up, if they decide to for any reason. Not sure about exchanging back to fiat currency via a debit card, but there seem to be a few around to chose from.

I'm hearing some horror stories about coinbase.
I haven't tried to pull cash out of steem, so far I've just powered up.
I'm aware of several other steemers in my home city, so I'd probably ask around, see if anyone wanted to buy in for cash.

That would be awesome!! I would use it :)

I guess with time such cards will be created but 1st steem has to grow a lot more!
