You Can Now Add A Cover Image To Your Steemit Profile
Hey guys, you can now update your profile cover image on Steemit!
Credits to @acidyo for mentioning this in a Discord chat.
Just go to your Settings and insert a URL to your image.
Get a bigger image (dimensions) to look better.
I changed mine to black as it suits the white of the font.
I made my own original cover art image since it is an awkward size for photos. If anyone wants to use it the link is https://s2.postimg.org/plw7gy7ax/Steemit_Cover_1.jpg
Also a couple tips: you can use larger resolution if you double or triple the pixel size as long as it is the right dimensions. Make sure you are using a direct link (try a different free image hosting site if yours isn't working). make sure you upload it as a .jpg. Try all those things if you are pasting a link and your cover photo isn't showing up! I had a couple issues and it is complicated because there is no error message - you just have to trouble shoot it yourself.

I don't know the pixel size, so I used a neutral background instead. Otherwise it's hard to adjust.

heard a lot of people are using 1920x300 to get a nice look. if you use a big image it uses the middle section of it like on mine. . .

yesterday i played around with it to see if could get the rough size and ended up using 2480 x 275, i found that anything higher then 275 for the height of the image, then it would not sit right, like you say it takes the middle section of your image, a way round that is to try and take the image of the person and make that no higher the 275px and add it to a backgroud that is approx 2480px,
i checked the image out on different monitors and depending on the size of the monitor it will alter how the image fits too
i also noticed that our cover image show ups on esteem, and it way our of proportion for the platform lol

I tried 1920 x 300 since someone mentioned it, and it took the upper part of the image. Maybe i should try your dimensions sometime later.
It became weird on eSteem haha. My previous cover (black background) turned pink on eSteem...
